Homebrew dev SG57 has released Light Cycle 3D, a PSP clone of a Tron light cycle game. The objective is to make your opponents crash into the solid trails your light cycle leaves behind.

Light Cycle 3D lets you choose from a variety of different skins and change the speed settings and enemy numbers to make the game more or less difficult. You can even customize the color of your light cycle's hull, window, rims, top, and chassis.

This game is the dev's entry for the PSP Homebrew Idol 2 contest, so if you like it give him some props. Here's a video of it in action.

» Nice but

it needs work, as does most HB. A great place to start is to look at the code for http://sourceforge.net/projects/gltron/

and use their AI (yours is......derrrr) also maybe look into camera smoothing and finding out why the light cycle customization wasn't workin for me.

Good luck, I always wanted to port GL tron

» I agree with seargent

This does need SOME work... but you'll get it...

It was a bit disappointing to see I cant make my own skins... I made an awesome VR skin, in like 1 1/2 minutes, threw it into the PSP, and I can't use it.

SO, you should work on adding skin creating functionality.

And the AI is a bit silly.

» Sweet!

I was hoping someone would port GLTron over to the PSP or some form of it. I'm gonna give this a try.

Thanks Man!
