GuitarStar - Image 1

Festi's popular GuitarStar homebrew clone of Guitar Hero has gotten a mod version from one JR59278. Everything's still intact - especially the Frets on Fire compatibility - but the modification here involves more of its graphical presentation.

JR59278 has now made GuitarStar look more like Guitar Hero by skinning it with some GH-ish theme.

» Language ?

Please tell me it is not in French xD

» I hope so

Haven't tried it yet. I very much hope it's in English not in French and that it actually DOES play Frets on Fire music. The last one did not, as it did not acknowledge tempo changes. I would argue that the phrase "Frets on Fire computability" does actually mean something and that something involves acknowledging tempo changes.

» My review

1. Yes it is in French. #$%@!!!

2. No it is NOT Frets on Fire compatible. I tried loading up "I Love Rock and Roll" from Guitar Hero 1 - a version that I *KNOW* works and stays in sync on PC-based Frets on Fire builds because I've tested it - and it does NOT stay in sync on this craptastic program. Therefore, THIS PROGRAM IS NOT FRETS ON FIRE COMPATIBLE, SO THIS BLOG ENTRY IS FALSE

» Compatibility

Update: except for being in French I think IT IS Frets on Fire compatible as I can play songs like No One Knows by QotSA, Paint in Black or Paranoid.

Still I think the key mapping is crappy then the game is almost useless on my phat as I can't press both directional keys at the same time (damn phat design, damn custom case).

Then PSP Revolution (Stepmania clone) stays on top as the best music homebrew ever. PSPR FTW !
