PSP homebrew - Geometry Wars Portable v0.7

PSP - Image 1

It's another duplicate of the famous Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. Developer Victory Studio should be a little more careful with the use of the game name, since we know that Bizaare Creations is quite particular over intellectual property issues. Anyway, good to have the game to play with all the same.

As of this release, Victory Studio hasn't checked on firmware compatibilities, but it was tested on 3.71 M33. He'd like to know if you made it work using other available firmware. You know the drill: download and enjoy.

That was awesome, right down to the music. You just need to copy Super Stardust Portable's controls

When you rapidly press a button, it should waver in between the angle above the button, the angle of the button, and the one below it (so tapping circle would wave the shooting between up/right, right, and down/right)

When you rapidly press 2 buttons, it should waver between the angles of both buttons. (so tapping circle and X would wave the shooting between down and right rapidly)

It's Geometry Wars, not Super Stardust Portable. There's no need to adjust the controls, they work just fine (they're the same as the regular GW releases).

One thing I have to say though is that the real Geometry Wars games aren't nearly as unforgiving as this one is.

I second FreePlay's question.

Why are there still people on 1.50 ???

Holy sh*t dude! lol You're 34 firmware revisions behind! Update to 5.00 M33-6 and add on the 1.50 kernel.

Guy must be stuck in 2005...

Oh I know it's much harder to survive on this one then on the arcade versions.

This has a better framerate than other GW versions out there. Sometimes it can be hard to see because there are so many fireworks on the screen and it can be hard to see your foes. I like this version. It's good, but personally I prefer Polygunwars over this one.

So what?

I also have a 2.50 fat and a 5.03 slim.

Im not into homebrew but i have a FW1.5 i refuse to upgrade, saw this and thought that if it was KXploitable it might be worth looking at. It doesnt work fine no biggie.

They do not work just fine, hence my suggestions. These changes would help compensate for the lack of a second analog stick, which they did beautifully on Super Stardust Portable

it would be nice if there was an option to move with the buttons and shoot with the joystick.
