PSP homebrew game - Maplevania (OpenBOR) |
Ó
What do you get when you mix the characters of MapleStory and Castlevania, combine them together for a really cool beat em up homebrew game? Well, it's Maplevania of course! An OpenBOR mod courtesy of homebrew coder NickyP.Developer's note:
What happens when you cross MapleStory and Castlevania, then make a beat em up out of it? Well... this! This was sort of an idea that put itself together over time. I love Castlevania games and always wanted to do something in BOR about it. I love Maplestory's sprites and always wanted to do something in BOR about it. It wasn't until one day that a friend of mine showed me a screenshot of MapleStory, one of the players was holding a whip as a weapon. It was then that the lightbulb in my head turned on, and Maplevania was born (thanks Rob)! It originally started out as a joke/parody mod, but as development went by I took it more seriously, and in my opinion it turned out pretty well!
For more info about the release, please check the README provided in the download.

Quick question: why did you guys just upload a notepad file with my download link? It doesn't bother me really, as users can still get the files, but I'm curious now lol You guys did that for MM: Power War too.
Thanks for posting about it, by the way!
please send me your email. thanks!
Well, I rather not display it publicly here. Couldn't you PM me whatever you need to tell me in the forums, Mabie? My username is exactly the same there, NickyP!
this is awesome the sound, the graphics im in love with it,its by far the best homebrew game ive played yet
(and i have played ALOT)
For some reason I generally hate the Maple Story sprites. The monsters are ok usually but the playable character sprites nearly always look like crap and have faces I want to cover up with a mask.
Wow it's so awesome. Reminds me of little fighter 2.0
I would want the sword hitbox to be bigger, a different butt for loot and special moves that can be done. And adhoc multiplayer
I always wanted lf2 on psp =P
Adhoc multiplayer in OpenBOR is something I want just as much as you. Unfortunately that's not my department, I just make the mods.
Think of it like a rom-emulator deal. I'm the guy that makes the roms, SX and the others make the emulators. Even if a rom supports 4 players, it doesn't really matter if the emulator doesn't.
That said, currently the PSP OpenBOR doesn't support multiplayer of any kind. Dreamcast, Windows, and pretty much all of the other platforms however do.
