Homebrew veteran Slasher has dropped QJ a line announcing that the first official version of Team Duck's PSP homebrew game Asterz has been released. Here's a rundown of the features Asterz v1 packs:
  • Utilizes the PSPGU to make use of 3D rendering & lighting
  • Ability to choose between several different ships, each with their own attributes
  • Includes three modes of gameplay (Story, Arcade, and Online)
  • Four different types of weapons to use (Gun, Missile, Nuke, and Laser)
  • ThereÂ’s a shield powerup which is helpful by making you temporarily invincible
  • Different types of enemy objects to dodge & kill
  • Asteroids vary in size, speed, and health
In case you're still wondering, Asterz is a shmup inspired by the classic Asteroids game from Atari. You get to pilot a ship of your own choosing and blow up or dodge (I got addicted to the barrel roll) asteroids and enemy ships. This is definitely one of the better homebrew games out there so check it out.

Props to Slasher for the tip!
