Homebrew developer charnold should be no stranger to the PSP development community. Ever since the release of the PSP Dungeons Alpha source code, there's been a generous amount of homebrew FPS games available for PSP owners to download.

The latest shooter based on the homebrew engine is entitled PSP Dungeons: Assault Run 1.0. The developer explains that this is a simple shooter based on the PSP Dungeons engine.

Despite the "simplicity" of the game, it does feature very clean visuals and a rather smooth framerate. What truly makes Assault Run interesting is the time limit the stage imposes on the player.

Those interested in playing charnold's latest creation can download PSP Dungeons: Assault Run 1.0 from the QJ.NET download section, accessible through the link below. You can also visit the PSP Development forum if you feel like discussing this nifty homebrew shooter with the developer. In any case, we hope you enjoy the download!

» Nice

FYI.. It's the first game using the new 3D engine he's been working on rather than the older engine we're accustomed to seeing.

» no wonder...

Thanks for the heads up NeilR! I was wondering why it looked a lot better than the previous versions I've tried out. :)

» Charnold is a God.

Hopefully we will be able to see levels with more complexity, rather than the hallways/rooms. Maybe something outside... With sky textures... That would be cool.

» outdoors

In his dev forum he said that he was thinking of implementing outdoor environements with the addition of skyboxes.
