PSP Dungeons 3D v0.5

If you like gory first person shooters with great graphics and a distinct likeness to successful FPS games such as DOOM and Wolfenstein 3D then you'll love PSP Dungeons 3D...and it's not a new UMD Game. Yes, despite the great looking graphics and a professional touch, PSP Dungeons 3D v0.5 is actually a homebrew game, the latest to come from the likes of Charnold from our forums. We last featured PSP Dungeons on QJ back in august, and a lot has changed since then, with a big clue being the title change to PSP Dungeons '3D'.

Back in August Mnky commented on PSP Dungeons, saying "hopefully we'll see this come into a fully-fledged game soon" and I think his dreams have finally come true. Here's the changelog:
  • Renders 3D weapons
  • Supports TGA textures
  • Maps can have doors that open automatically
  • Models and weapons can be set in ASCII files
If you enjoy playing this game like the rest of the QJ staff right now, then you might want to know that Charnold has also created a PSP Dungeons map making kit. It containins everything you need in order to get started making your own maps for this FPS homebrew game. We know you can't wait to get your hands on this game so we'll be off, but remember, if you do make a few maps for this game, don't forget to release them in our PSP Development Forum!

As much as I wanted to try this, it isn't even Kxploited. Sorry, but I guess it'll have to wait untill they do that.

by - 2006-10-28 01:13:15
map 4 or 5

HAHA, map 4 or 5 (not sure right now) is a remake of Wolfenstien 3d's first level! (or Doom 2's secret level map31) very nice, i just really really want a GUI editor for the map kit!!!!!, Ive made plenty of levels for Doom and im ready to step up to this!
by - 2006-10-28 02:04:43
incredible

wow the graphics and gameplay are solid and the ability to have people make maps is awesome. I so cant wait to try out other peoples creation. I say that because I probably couldnt make my own. But yeah great homebrew game and keep up the great work

It's taking an hour to copy... Can't you put all the character files etc. into one zip so it doesn't take ages to copy?
by - 2006-10-28 05:24:37
it dont take a hour

u must unzip it first to your hd and then to the PSP
by - 2006-10-28 05:26:08
map loading

is it normal that loading maps with the editor takes hours???
by - 2006-10-28 05:27:48
NO

No!! it dont have a multiplayer :(
by - 2006-10-28 05:46:31
map loading

until now there is no real map editor (the maps are edited in ascii files), I think you started the vismaker tool. Once you finished a map and want it to be rendered really fast, you use this tool to compute visibility information (the .vis file) for the renderer.
by - 2006-10-28 07:25:32
hahaha

harsh
by - 2006-10-28 07:36:33

by - 2006-10-28 08:33:46
now if only i could play this...

i wud download this but im a 2.8 an im waiting for eloader
by - 2006-10-28 10:42:13
...

I tried that, and putting the zip onto the PSP then extracting it. But I'd just like to make my first comment clearer - It would be better to have all the images (character files etc) in a zip or archive to make it faster to copy. Of course, the game would need to be able to read the .zip files first.
by yoshinatsu - 2006-10-28 11:35:33
Duh...

you idiot, except the fact that you can run un-kxploited eboots with 1.50, you can also run it with 2.71B. So lame...
by yoshinatsu - 2006-10-28 11:40:56
AWESOME GAME

Man, it really rules. This is a REAL homebrew game. Charnold, I think you made (if not the best) one of the BEST PSP homebrew games EVER. Keep up the good work, we really love having people like you in our community. Your game is really cool, although I think you should find a more "catchy" name, not something like PSPQuake or PSPDoom (i know they already exist, but this is not what I'm trying to say for those who'll try to tell me a noob) or something. You should find something unique, because it really IS unique.
by - 2006-10-28 14:59:41

HELP PLZ!!!

how can i get this to run on my psp 2.71 se-b please help i took the dungeons file in put it in my game folder
by - 2006-10-28 23:59:33
this

well, i have a 2.71 se-b aswell, i simply stuck the "dungeon" folder into the GAME folder ( not GAME150 ) and it worked for me, I have made a simple map for this and it works perfect on PC version, but textures do not display on PSP version! any body know why?
by - 2006-10-29 00:18:50
this

BlackShark, maybe you loaded too many textures into the psp vram ? On the pc this option (vram_1) doesn't matter, but on psp there is only vram space for about 7 textures (128x128 pixel) per level. Set vram_0 for the other textures.
by hammered - 2006-10-29 01:01:09
Kxploit

wouldn't it work with 2.71 se-b coz ders a 1.50 folder, ne way it worked for me then once i tried to play it again it didn't work, starts up then shuts down my psp
by - 2006-10-30 00:46:46
thx Chris

ya, thanks, O and i figured it out, turns out my map was in the old format, all i had to do was get rid of some parameters.
