Portable Hangman v1.0

Kennethdm from our forums has released a new homebrew game for you all to toy with: Portable HangMan. I'm sure it really doesn't need an explanation, but Portable Hangman is basically HangMan for your PSP. In this classic puzzle game you have to guess the letters in the word until you either get the correct answer, and win, or the picture of a stick person being hung is fully drawn, meaning you loose.

It's surprising that a version of Hangman hasn't made it onto the PSP yet, as its such a fun game! The great thing about Portable HangMan is that it is very easy to use and modify. The keyboard interface is quick and simple, and Portable HangMan also includes a clock and battery indicator so you don't forget how long you've spent playing this.

Currently there are 4 categories: Animal, Songs (number 1), Sport, Movies (top Box Office). You can press Triangle to take a screenshot, and for those that aren't satisfied with the words currently available, or if they want to translate it to their own language, they can simply open the file hangword.txt , and you can add or delete words. The first letter corresponds to the first letter for each category (i.e. A = Animal, S = Songs etc).

» hmmm

i dont know why these guys waste there time programming little games when you can play the in flash on 2.70^ if you are going to homebrew make a 3d game that will envy the updaters. the GTA exploit takes too long to work sometimes i suggest dont waste your time just upgrade if the games are going to be like this when you can play it on flash via:web browser directory no lag!

hangman is a great game while I could just play it with a buddy on a piece of paper you can also do this

» criticism is easy, why don't you do it yourself then

sure this game isn't that much of a breakthrough, or appealing for the eye or whatever, but I would like to see all those criticists program this game themselves

what... you can't program anything except for the tutorial examples? well stfu then

» now I know why great dev's retire from the scene

the psp homebrew scene truly is one of the most ignorant and ungrateful scene of all. A scene filled with kiddies who like to play iso's and whine about released homebrew, how it doesn't fit their needs etc.

not once does it come up to them that writing these programs takes time and skill from programmers (not mine though, this is a simple one). We don't want to hear you screwballs say it is boring or whatever, if you don't have constructive criticism, then just keep your mouth shut and try to make something better.

Which is actually a problem for most criticisers, because they have no programming skills what so ever

» i did it first

i made a Java hangman when 2.5 first came out and had it out and ready the next day. why is this guy being called the first to put a hangman on a PSP? really now.. are they going to take credit for my PSP Tic Tac Toe too?

» Good

I like this game.

» =D

Half you have no idea how hard it is to program something as simple as this. There is plenty of screwups, hours of testing, hours of hitting your screen with a baseball bat. This app is actually one of my favorite homebrew games for the PSP and i would like to see more updates of it. So no matter what all these losers say Kennethdm keep up the great work. I know how hard coding is i tried It with my app eChanger.
