Thanks to a  tip from reader AshTR, we're letting you guys know that Deniska has recently finished work on OpenTyrian PSP v1.0. The latest release of this classic top-down shooter will now run PSPs running on custom firmware 3.xx. Yes, Slim owners - this release is certainly for you. As for the rest of the changelog:
  • support for 3.xx FW & slim PSPs
  • based on the latest (689) revision of OpenTyrian
  • latest source code included
  • Known Issues:
    • Network play is not yet implemented
    • 2 player mode buttons are not mapped
For the guys not too keen on their old-school shooter lore, Tyrian was originally developed by Eclipse Productions back in 1995. The game hit freeware status in 2004, while its graphics became available under an open license by April last year. Deniska's PSP port in particular is based on on OpenTyrian project code.

Installation and game control details can be found in the file bundle's readme. We advise you to read that first to ensure that your play sessions stay fast-paced and enjoyable.
