No Gravity v1.01 game demo

This. Is. Homebrew. Yeah, huh. Don't believe us? Check the readme. Demo as it just might be, we're impressed. Very impressed. So much so that this writer. Can't. Write. In complete sentences. No Gravity, a 3D arcade-style space shooter, is developed by RealTechVR.

You'll be controlling a ship that goes through various missions, each with its own objective to accomplish: shoot-and-destroy missions, mine field clearing missions, ship escort missions... The only sad thing about it is that we're just getting the demo for now. The full version is to be released in the future, so that's worth looking forward to.

The demo, which has five missions, can be download below. The game runs on FW 1.5 or 1.5 backward-compatible firmwares. Check the readme for the full installation instructions, notes, control configurations, and credits.

And to those wondering about the 'hyperspace' lines: In space it can be hard to visually confirm in which direction you are moving, thus the lines are painted by the HUD to give a sense of direction and speed.

This has got to be one of the most amazing looking pieces of homebrew, for the PSP, I have ever seen. This could really shape up to be something fantastic.

This Demo is breath-taking. I haven't figured out all the weapons but theres 6 or so. For 17Mb or so, this is incredible and should be on every PSP.

Looking forward to this! Proving once again, what this machine can do, and this awesome community can do!

by UnrealClock - 2007-03-08 01:33
» Great, needs some more polish.

It was indeed better then most Homebrew. However if you really want to analyze a game say something negative as well as positive.

My only complaint I have are the stars as your driving, the author should change it a lot, or just completely remove it.

Yet another homebrew port on the PSP. Tsk tsk...

This game is good but it's still not as good as a commercial game. It gets very repetitive early too. Still, it's one of the better homebrew games I have seen in a while. Thumbs up for that.

I'm not going to apologize for my harsh critique, just giving my opinion instead of sucking up like others have.

by Dude - 2007-03-08 11:26

Someone should make a compiler for the PSP that does not require cygwin or Linux. Then, I'll bet you $50 that I will make at least 5 games and applications for the PSP.

By the way, I will try the game demo today, due to the fact that I'm not busy.

Unfortunately, simply creating compilers is very difficult, so this will not happen any time soon. However, this inspired me to start programming for the PSP. I'll probably get a VM with Linux and do the development in there.

like the glow of the star and the way the ship rolls when u turn that reminds me kinda of astroids

homebrew is the best forget the rest

by The creator should send this to sony - 2007-03-11 12:21

They could maybe allow it for a downloadable demo

» They could make it into a demo

Maybe the creator could send thisawesome game to sony and if he's lucky they could allow it to be a downloadable demo like loco roco and a few other games . A good idea for the homebrew community and sony would be for sony to allow certain homebrew games but first sony must make sure the homebrew is legal and then if it is as creative and as good as this game they will make it into a downloadable demo

» hi ho

can my 3.11 ver work this

by W. Jones - 2007-03-27 15:03
» Sorry to say....

Sorry to say, but NO it cannot run this game. Homebrew can only be played on 1.50 PSP's or PSP's with eLoaders, or DarK_AleX's custom firmwares, such as 3.03 OE-C. And currently, there is no downgrader for a PSP with a 3.11 firmware version, so you can't play any homebrew and you'll just have to wait.
