Metroid: Return of the SA-X 2.75 |
Ó
If there's one thing the world of gaming never runs out of, it's our heroes. But what is it that truly makes someone hero-worthy? Is it the boostified coiling guns? Flashy magic spells, raw strength, or just plain old Sawyer smarts perhaps? Nah, we won't give you the "it's because of their pure heart and honest intentions" spin. We know the answer - it's the way our heroes shred the tiniest bits of the villains.
Ninja9393 probably had that in mind when he came up with the new features for his 'brew - Metroid: Return of the SA-X. Although it's a pretty long list and packs a heavier "punch" than its earlier versions, the most notable feature, and definitely one that has the best impact on the game's development however, is the addition of enemies.
Yep, a hero won't be kickass if it has no enemy to own. So in this version, Ninja9393 included a crouched alien thingy for our character to do every hero's favorite pastime - mess up the game with the villain's blood smears. Here's the changelog:
-Enemies(space pirate)
-Collision
-Ability to kill enemies(may take 10-20 shots)
To be added in the next release:
-The story
-Ability to play either as the SA-X or The Fusion Suit Samus.
-More rooms
-Cutscenes
For future releases, Ninja9393 said that a major enhancement could be the option to play either SA-X or Samus. We love our heroes but it's nice to feel "evil" sometimes right? He also added that he did this so the game could have two stories and richer gameplay later on.

alright, getting better finally. keep it up.
unlike many lua developers, you're really learning how to code and not giving up with your first "sprite running around in a room" version, which is very commendable
Does this game writes to flash? I scanned it with PSafeP.. [22:38:32] Scanning File: C:\Metroid\EBOOT.PBP [22:38:32] WARNING: SUSPICIOUS FLASH ACCESS DETECTED!
well but instead of thinking about richer gameplay it should have gameplay at first....you already knwo how to make different rooms, you already kno how to put enemies(even though they are clearly not on the same plane as samus) so go build a map filled with different enemies and areas, and then you think about cutscenes and ***** and different chars
Awesome Lua homebrew! I have to ask where the F'd up version #'s are coming from? Version 1.0 should have been the first completed version. v2.75.. lmao ;)
And why does this piece of ***** keep getting front-page news for have (gasp) an enemy? Why not just save yourself the hassle and release a full (or even beta) when it's ready, instead of posting a new version every time you add a new feature. And for the naysayers: No, I haven't released anything, but I could code something like this in about five minutes.
Wow, I love these type of games. Nice job Ninja9393!
its really nice to see some1 make a homebrew metroid game and this sure seems to be improving thanks :D @ # 7 dude go ahead and code something and release it in about 10 minutes ;-) 5 min. to code 5 min. to upload it or however long it may take.

Are you guys telling me...that you are using your PSP...to run Nintendo based homebrew games? Call me crazy, but that is crazy.
I scanned on of the EBOOT file within the Metroid folder when I unzipped the main folder using winrar. I scanned it with PSafeP... and this came up. [22:38:32] Scanning File: C:MetroidEBOOT.PBP [22:38:32] WARNING: SUSPICIOUS FLASH ACCESS DETECTED! So be warned, and don't update until this file is further examined, especially, if you don't want a bricked PSP. Afterall, it did cost you $249.99. And wouldn't it be a shame for that money to go to waste. :>(
how do u download it to a psp
It's not going to brick your PSP, seriously, quit worrying about it. PSPGen does the same, as well as NesterJ (newest version). Nice job ninja9393, I am excited for a full version...or even a single level of this game. And to #7, since you're obviously a programmer, then you already know that getting the basic functions of a game (usually an engine) is the hardest part...and that once you have a running usable platform it's easier to mold the level, storyline, and everything else interesting to the game. In fact, I'd love to see you program anything even close to the calibur of this in 5-30 minutes.
