Magic PSP Station v1.05 beta - four new sets added to database |
Ó
If you're mad for popular trading card games but don't exactly have the time or the money to invest in them, then transce08 has a good alternative for those of you who love playing Magic: The Gathering. The homebrew developer has released Magic PSP Station v1.05 beta, which adds up to four new sets to its database for added TCG fun.
Here's the complete changelog since our last coverage of Magic PSP Station:
1.01:
- allow multiple sets installed at once
- load Magic Workstation format decks
- allow multiple decks installed at once
- load sideboard (in MWS decks)
- better MWS deck compatibility
- set and decks load from set.dat
- allow both MPS and MPW deck loading
- choose set and decks at run time
- loads player names from config.dat
To use this update, you must have sets organized to the sets folder, decks organized to the decks folder, and set names updated to MPS 1.02 format. See previous posts for details.
As an added bonus, the developer has mentioned that four more sets have been added to the latest version as well. These include Portal, Three Kingdoms, Ravnica, 4th edition, and 9th edition. The database for these deck formats were written by various TCG enthusiasts and is available in the MWS format.
For more information on how to install this great TCG simulator, check out the author's discussion of the application at the QJ.NET PSP Development Forums that you can access through the Via link below.
Don't forget to read up on the installation process as well as the different file format the game needs to run by looking at the Readme.txt file that goes with the homebrew game.

Comments
This is a typo, MPS is currently on 1.05 beta.
The article is referring to version 1.05 beta. If you're updating from 1.00 straight to 1.05, there are several things you must do: + Copy the included files and directories to your MPS directory, overwriting if necessary. + Move your set files (that means name.dat, type.dat, and CARD and THMN directories) to MPS\sets\ MPS\sets\10E MPS\sets\LR MPS\sets\RAV etc. etc. + Move your deck files to MPS\decks\ MPS\decks\10E MPS\decks\LR MPS\decks\RAV etc. etc. Use the same 3 letter code as the set. MWS conventions are recommended. + Update your database name.dat files to 1.02+ format LINK: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2qnkww2ommx
