If you've enjoyed cruising through the cosmos in MadMax11's space-faring RPG Maelstrom, then you'll definitely get a kick out of the latest release from the PSP homebrew developer. Space jockeys will finally have direction in their travels as the latest update inserts the beginnings of a solid storyline for the game.

In addition to this, Maelstrom Alpha4 now displays the stats for each ship and its relevant upgrades. This information will be vital when facing off against the various encounters you'll surely meet along the way.

Here's a detailed breakdown of the latest changelog from the developer:
  • Added in stats for each upgrade & ship. Stats will be used for battling
  • Beginning ideas for storyline
The Lua-based game definitely looks like it's shaping up to become one epic homebrew adventure for the handheld. The developer is asking everyone to give out their suggestions for any other improvements they want to see in later builds.
