Lua Ys for PSP |
Ó

jman420 could be one of those selected few not of Japanese descent (or maybe he is) that had an appreciation for this action role-playing game from Falcom released in 1987, otherwise, he wouldn't have bothered porting it to the PSP.
Ys I : Ancient Ys Vanished is the first in the Ys franchise. The story begins with Adol Christin stumbling upon the land of Esteria in his efforts to uncover the mystery of the land of Ys that vanished from the face of the earth seven hundred or so years ago.
Although it has enjoyed extreme popularity in its native country, Japan, it was only officially released in English a handful of times. It was Ys: The Vanished Omens for the Sega Master System, Ys: Book I & II (a game package of the first two installments) for the TurboGrafx-CD and for DOC PCs, in a port brought over by Sierra.
Since jman420's homage to the original game is still in its humble beginnings, you can just ogle at the very detailed environment that you'll be playing around in. I myself am looking forward to more developments for this game. One thing I know is that it is going to look good. Just look at his previous work on Survival Horror. Download his current project and see if it's to your liking.

But all the houses and backgrounds are my own 3D work only using textures that resemble the SMS.. the intire background set is built in 3DS Max and rendered with shadows and all...
Y's was the single greatest game ever made, and I dont want the game to just stay as a dusty case in someone's closet.. I wanted to make it new on a new system that people play..
and the battle system is so amazingly simple, the movement is simple, the whole thing will not take much speed, so jag, thanks for the negitivity, but I will not let this fade away.. I have been trying to remake this game since I was 10 on GameMaker, and now I have the ability to make it for PSP, so its going to get done..
And just in case anyone did care, I am not of Japaneese decent, I just played the game from the age of 3 to 15 or so all the time, I love the music, I love the battle system, and most all of it can be coded in the simplest ways..
In fact, someone should look at my code, its very simple, and amazingly easy to understand, yet it has the ability to run a game in almost the same way that a program in C could run (speedwise)
anyway, look for an update in the near future!

I worked on this, and invented new ways of simple coding to build a game based on ease and learnability, Lua is easy to use, and easy to write script for, so go to hell..
frickin *****

I thought I should finaly make a good RPG on Lua because everyone else has sucked at it, so I made my own method, and released it also in hopes that someone would learn from it and make their own games..
Lua is not a programming language, its a scripting system, that runs a script past a compiler, and does what the script says, now C, you'd have a lot more of a challenge setting up the enviroment to run the same script, however being as with C you require much more in the way of software, I have not started on a C version..
I built this to show off my animation and scrolling inventions, not to have fungo's like you start shihit about how its an inferior way to make games, I dont care about your *****ing opinion, so ***** off!
all other Lua RPG systems have sucked, but you just wait untill this has its whole set up of Battle system, Exp system, and AI.. then you can just suck my ass because your just jelous that I have made a program that rules yours..
By the way, anything that you could possably program will still fall far short of my other project, of course I speak of GSHC#1.
if you got ***** to say to me, do it in a civelized manner, not on *****ing comments...

FOR ****S SAKE. Please, just download Meeku's Quest. I hate to say it, but our RPG system is eons better than yours. REAL isometric mapping with full animation, AI, collision, moving, rooms, doors, camera rotation everything in a fieldmap. Don't even dare say that sucks again, because it is many steps ahead of this.

and ya know, if you tried this and didnt like it, thats your funking opinion, its damn better then most other Lua games I've downloaded, and ya know.. QJ.net stole this information from DCEMU, so I didnt post it, and in fact I think that from here on out, I am not allowing my work to be posted on QJ...

And I just have to say, that its pathetic that this idiot that flamed my comments with his retarded banter, is so lost, and so full of mindless idiocy that he would flame my post on a fairly good start at a game...
It pains me to think that the world is so fuhqed up, that even people with progress can be treated like shihit by one person..
Obviously this person never had good parents, because it seems that he is requiring more attention, so he will just treat other people like shihit on a site, where obviously, he only did it to anger someone else...
and he did, but I still say that he is a pathetic excsuse for a human, and quite frankly, doesent deserve the right to live on my rock... if it were possable to select anyone on earth, and eject them into space, that idiot would be on the top of my list...
I have an extremely low tolerance for BullShihit.. and being as he had nothing to say that was of any assistance, I felt that I would just go all out on him...
I truly hate this world, no mater where you look, someone else is around to wreck your day.. and possably even your life.. its sad that there are such evil people, that would just want to anger people for attention...
obviously though, you could not anger people, and do what I have done, gain the respect of other coders by helping people, and always staying in contact with people in the Scene.
your cry for attention had no right to be tolerated though, so I feal that anything I said, I had full right to say... so I do not apologise..
