Old school exploiting for the frakking win! And thanks to the GripShift exploit that MaTiAz and FreePlay found (and are still currently working on), we finally have one of the first homebrew games ever on the PSP-3000.

Using the Hello World Sparta SDK exploit from FreePlay and MaTiAz, PSP homebrew developer dragula96 (of Tetriabetes fame) released GripShift Pong the other day. As he states, it does indeed "feel wrong when a hello world is not followed by pong," and true enough, he followed it through.

Here's a video demo of the game on the PSP-3000, uploaded by mattc41 of the QJ.NET forums:

» Please please please hack the EU version

I live in Europe, the US version is to hard to get and probebly wont work on EU PSPs :'(

If you hack the EU version, the prices can lower alot!! I mean, who is going to pay €100,- euro for homebrew, if EU is hacked, therell be more games thus a lower price.

» Hehehe!

Major time warp huh?

Remember when Noobz released the Illuminati exploit? Sales for Lumines skyrocketed at that time. LOL. And now it's happening for GripShift too! Hehehe!

» why

hide the mac address now, its not like Sony will hunt you down... and besides, the camera didn't even focus in that well. REALLY, if someone wants to flame on me for asking, but does anybody have PROOF that Sony has tracked a single homebrewer and charged them? I know thats why DAX stopped for like 2 seconds, but hes still hacking away.

» agreed

hiding the MAC adressed is completely pointless

Interestingly, he ends up showing the Mac adress to the camera anyways

by kloplop321 - 2009-01-11 08:35
» why do..?

why do people block their MAC address? you can't actually DO anything with it...

» .

Paranoia I spose. It's silly really.

by WiiRolled - 2009-01-11 10:07
» true

Everyone just hide their mac adresses because they saw someone else doing it.

The disease spreads...
