Yesterday, hardhat released his PxP Homebrew Coding Compo entry, Gunnar Hero for the PSP. A lot of you guys liked it, but of course there is always some room for improvement and we are pretty sure that hardhat is working hard to make this game better. In the meantime, other devs are dabbling on it and creating Gunnar Hero mods, one of them is fatcat04912.

He recently came up with a "Punk Version" of Gunnar Hero. He mentions that this includes Batman on drums, Ozzy Osbourne on guitar, and Skuzz on synthesizer. He also said that this mod has a new score board, guitar neck, new bars, and he made the buttons darker.

He thanks hardhat for coming up with the original Gunnar Hero and he wishes him the best of luck in the PxP Homebrew Coding Compo. For now, check out fatcat04912's punk mod of Gunnar Hero.

I don't know how to play it?

Regarding the original gunnar hero: After crashing multiple times, i read that only a certain built in song worked. So i tried that got it to play, but I can't tell if i am hitting the strokes or not. My score isn't going up, but i don't get any visual or audio feedback whether i am missing or hitting. do the notes fire up when hit correctly like guitar hero? Or audio "eene" when missing? If not, can it be implemented?

Don't argue...

The DS is a great system. The games released for it are usually significantly better than those for the PSP. However, the PSP's true power has not been fully realized yet and if Sony actually utilized it more it could be so much better. The key to the PSP is the homebrew though. Without it, the DS would be the better system without a question. However, I feel arguing about which system is better is useless, because you are not going to change anybodies minds, especially if you are spamming a PSP website.
