GuitarStar - Image 1

We haven't had a Guitar Hero homebrew clone of late. There was that Guitarra Gero back in September, but now here's something new. GuitarStar v1.00 comes from French coder festi.

Since this is the first release, there's no changelog. That's all well and good, because even though it's still in its early stage, it already has one big feature: song compatibility with Frets on Fire! Yes, you can add your own Frets on Fire music!

buttons?

oh man I am having serious trouble figuring out the buttons. Does this do alarian songs as well as normal frets on fire? (meaning, does it support drums.ogg and bass.ogg?)

Frets on Fire..

I went to the Frets on Fire web site to grab some new music and I must say... WOW there is a ton of bands on there...

Frets On Fire songs

Only a few have separated tracks though. The rest are just like Dance Dance Revolution - the notes play whether you hit them or not. GeetarFreaks also has alot of tracks http://www.geetarfreaks.webs.com/

sweet homebrew!!

i love it. i'm putting a vid on youtube, shortly, of me playing this using my keyboard. i mapped the fret buttons to my number pad using remotejoylite. i wish F1-F5 were appropriate buttons to map, but since it isn't, it's harder to hit the notes with the keyboard. still this is f***king awesome. i'll post my vid here later.

ummm...

why not just play frets on fire if you're going to do that?
by Metal Jody - 2009-01-22 21:20:13
@ 73N5H1

Because frets on fire doesn't work fine on my pc. it makes me miss too many notes, due to the lag. besides i'm getting use to the number pad now.

.......

Idiots.... why the hell are you going to play a GUITAR GAME on the PSP or PC The only ONLY thing that would merit this is the Nintendo DS Guitar CONTROLLER accessory - the psp does not have one And i wonder why this is even posted as news , why do people care about frets on fire a PC game on PSP updates.. WOW....If these lame unrelated story's do not quit getting covered I'll find info elsewhere
