We hope you remember the homebrew game Super Mario War from way back June of 2006 which was created by Percival. Well, one coder decided to give that homebrew a makeover: folks, we share with you Sp3ct0r's Anime Wars v1.
Super Mario War and Anime Wars are basically the same. One of the major difference is that instead of stomping the bejeezus out of enemy Mario characters, you will be fighting against various characters from popular anime shows in Anime Wars. Some of the 36 playable characters include Naruto, Goku, Sakura, Inuyasha, and Rock Lee.
Sp3ct0r also mentioned that many of Super Mario War's features were incorporated in this release. So that means you can fight a total of three CPU units at a time, in mention many modes of gameplay. Anime Wars v1 also sports an anime soundtrack, a bunch of unique anime levels, and all-new weapons such as shuriken, kunai, Ninja Needles, etc.).
Lastly, the coder said that the game sometimes crashes, but that he's working on it and this issue will surely be addressed in the next version. Ad-hoc support will be implemented the moment Sp3ct0r gets the source code for that feature (somebody give it to the guy, please). In the mean time, just enjoy this game and as always, don't forget to give your shout-outs to the developer.

I HATE DBZ and Inuyasha. It was nice to see some Naruto characters though, and Luffy, Kenshin, and I'm pretty sure I saw Kon from bleach in that screenshot. Now if only they'd add FMA, GITS:SAC, Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai Champloo. Can you imagine? Ed, The Major, Mugen, Spike, it would be awesome!
Kinda addictive, but needs better spawn placement for some maps, like in coin or CTF battles. Sometimes they spawn into places that are impossible to reach.
I'd say the more different chars from different series better. :)

I hope you do know that Super Mario war has been updated to version 1.7. You guys really haven't been keeping up with the times. (I even posted it on the forums)
Naruto is the fail though. You obviously have some attraction to *****ty anime.

I wouldn't trust you with an opinon on what anime is good or not, you like Inuysaha. I mean, c'mon. Texhnolyze is where it's at. And GITS.
This looks awesome, gonna give it a go =D Does it support custom characters and levels? If not that would be a great thing to add :)

Can't you switch the CPU characters? I'm sick of seeing Naruto jump around. Sorry to say, but the original Super Mario War was better.
