Kuraudo attacks! - Image 1

Kuraudo-sama has recently updated his game, the Final Fan-tasy VII: Last Chapter, and mostly, it was the battle system that he tweaked with. Here's the complete change log for it.

Improvements:
  • Doesn't suck (as much)
  • No slow downs
  • No choppy sound
  • No choppy animation
  • Added better hp status meters
  • Enemy can attack
  • A real town (poorly made)
  • Really real RPG battles
In the meantime, there's still some more things he needs to deal with, such as the following:
  • Need to remove the white box from some sprite
  • Need to make battles random
  • Need make different battles
  • Need to make houses enter-able
  • Need to add people to the town
  • Need to add save support
  • Magic, and Items will be dropped forever
  • Need more SFX, and music
So there. Download the file, check out the Read Me, and join the discussion thread at our forums. Gah, you know the drill.

» Woah cool

Awesome looking work there

Once again someone rips some sprites, backgrounds, music, and story/characters from a preexisting game and calls it something new. If I steal a guitar line from a song, a bass track from another, etc until I make a 'new' song I would be called a theif and a plagiariser. Instead of making a mockery of other peoples work why don't you learn how to do sprite artwork yourself and make your own characters? And then think up your own story and write it? And then, to your amazement, you will have 'made' a game as opposed to stolen someone else's.

» this is not what we want

Seriously, this guy needs to wait more before posting his crap to QJ. I mean; Finish your stupid game until you have a working (but not yet bug-free) game. Do not release this crappy tests of yours: we do not care!

This games code is nothing. Sprites, music, background, all stolen.

Please, do something good, and go **** yourself!

STFU!

you make something and i'll be quiet

Sry i'm just really tired of seeing all these damn flamers

» Flamers

I was not 'flaming' him, I was saying that stealing other people's art is just that, stealing. I can not do sprite animation nor can I code, but by the looks of this guy's work neither can he.

» WTF

Seriously, this is the last time I post this game on QJ!

» well...

i think its a very good idea. it brings about a different way to play as the characters we all love. sure, it's not that good yet, but im sure it will get better. i back the dev all the way. i think if kuraudo-sama works hard enough, this may turn into one of the best homebrew rpg's. and if i may make a recommendation, i hope the final version feels something like FF6. it was such a great game and there are so few like it. keep up the good work Kuraudo-sama!

by Kuraudo-sama - 2007-05-09 09:29
» Opps

Maybe I didn't explain why. It's because if your just gonna put down my work, why should I release it here? It's just hard to see something I worked on for hours, to be insulted contently by one people!

by Kuraudo-sama - 2007-05-09 09:51
» No

I'm pretty sure saying "**** yourself" is a flame.

by Yeah - 2007-05-09 09:53
» Responce

The only reason I put down your work is because it contains 95% other people's work. If you want to make games, more power to you and I hope they turn out well. But try using original material so that way you learn how to create instead of write off as your own.

The problem is I can only code. I could make my own sprites, but then that would take months. It's just a side project. If this would be a big deal I would get a C+D. In which case I will change everything to a new game.

To 'Yeah'

Leave the guy be,he's trying to show people who are interested in this type of thing what he is doing, who knows, from this people might say 'i can help with 'blah blah' if you need it'?

Its very easy to sit on your arse and have a go at someone, but beat in mind absolutely hundreds of games come from another one, meaning, the same engines and things are used, and hell, you dont say SquareEnix are copying themselves because they have the same chime in all their games (when you win) or saying the same about Zelda .OoT used a modified Mario 64 engine when it was RELEASED. This is a work in progress and it takes a hell of alot of balls to actually post something up and allow for people like you to throw it back into their hard working faces. So its not original. You want the original FF7? then go play it. shut the hell up and being a *****. If you cant code or have any knowledge of it (as it seems) then you, are an idiot if you are going to scrutinise someones work . Its called 'development' for a reason. Some CONSTRUCTIVE critism would be the best thing, and if you cant think of anything to say, shut up. Just because you dont like this doesnt mean others wont.

And to 'Kuraudo- sama) i dont have a psp, i got rid of mine, but i would like to thank you for putting your time and effort into such a project, and im sure the developers of the game would be proud you are taking their idea's and playing with them. My advice would be to allow for some customisation (if possible) example, upload your own sprites into the game (as in,allow players to boot a sprite from a folder) and same with battle music.

This is your chance to tinker with FF7 after all and put YOUR spin on it, i realise this is for fun, but if you do this right and it gets around, thats a hell of a thing to be proud of. Keep up the goodwork and dont let idiots like 'Yeah' Get to you. Shutting people like them up is the best feeling, but not as good as a finished game

by Kuraudo-sama - 2007-05-09 17:42
» Thank You

Wow! All I can say is thank you for saying what I wanted. This is exactly how I feel.

I was gonna quit this because I got almost no thanks just "this sucks", "Nice", "Just don't finish this". Mostly I would get long insults

by Kuraudo-sama - 2007-05-10 02:01
» OK

I have had enough of this, if you want me to finish this game paypal $50 to

This will let me know that people out there care and will make me want to finish it

by Kuraudo-sama - 2007-05-10 07:08
» WTF

I need no money. I do this out of the kindness in my heart, and the love of RPGs. You are a fake!

Kuraudo-sama (real) anytime. Some people just arn't aware what people have to do. Even if you dont show this project ot anyone, keep doing it just for fun,to get better, and then for your next project you'll have the experiance to blow idiots away.

And Kuraudo-same(fake) nice try. made me smile

by Kuraudo-sama - 2007-05-11 02:39
» Yeah

I guess your right I shouldn't let things get to me.
