EXIT has been released on December 15 in Japan. But donÂ’t get too excited yet. The game requires v2.50 firmware to run, according to an email from Killah.
"EXIT" is a puzzle action game, which implements various kinds of action, for escaping from different situations. The players will control the "Mr. ESC", lead him to escape from buildings, hospitals, underground facilities, with disasters like fire or earthquake, under a certain time limit.
Is it the beginning of the v2.50 reign? ItÂ’s in unavoidable for sure, but still sad to hear.
P.S. I have to say that I *gulp* have already pre-ordered Me & My Katamari DamacyÂ… T_T

When Ubisoft makes PSP games then its gonna be great and of course they will require 2.5 or maybe higher.
Alot of new Japanese PSP games are so worth the upgrade that I import PSP games because US games plain suck when compared.
The japanese have reasons for upgrading for games but i will admit US is crap when it comes to game selection

1. Burn this UMD
2. Buy GTA: Liberty City Stories
3. Enjoy your not 2.50 PSP
I hope this guide helps.

wasnt there a program that would recompile everything inside an iso to bring it from 2.00 to 1.50? this however didnt work for GTA but it did work for lots of other games.
if it dosnt work with EXIT it may probably work for a lot of others.

i just want to buy a game and play it and as i need to update to play the games i will like i said homebrew emulators was all great at first but now i can live without it and would rather just play the actual psp games.
by the end of next year there will be knowone with a 1.50 psp and all games released will require a firmware over 2.50 and homebrew is dead.

When you have the minds of people all over the world working for it, given enough time, they can break through.

well i means that we can stay in the safe-zone (1.5 and 2.00) until something is done about running 2.50+ encrypted umds.
firmware emulators are coming on strong (AVC format playback already!)
The 2.00>1.50 recompiler will of course have to be re-written to decrypt 2.50

maybe it is just me who feels this way but i think as you need to go though more exploits and different less convenent methods to play homebrew people will get bored and just upgrade so they can play there psp games.

Homebrew may be slow at the moment, but in the next year or so there will be developments that will make you wish you never upgraded.. browsers that are fast, updated often and support flash; software that will allow you to launch any UMD regardless of firmware version; and of course, PSPLinux :)
I suppose it depends on what you bought your PSP for... but, not much has really changed from 2.0 in terms of functionality. Upgrading = loss of the enormous potential the PSP has.

Smackdown vs RAW 2006 already requires 2.50 and so does Prince of Persia: Revelations.
