Combined Assault - Image 1A couple of months ago, homebrew coder Stealth Kill surprised us with his CS Combined Assault Alpha homebrew game, which provided for a loyal rendering of the PC's Counter-Strike title to the PSP. With that said, CSCA has just been updated to version 0.4, and comes with these latest fixes:
  • CS_italy map
  • Dust2 map
  • Added M60E3
  • Added MP5 SD
  • Pumpgun new SKin
  • New Sounds
  • New Menu
  • New HUD
  • Player is slower
  • Footsteps
  • Spawn Bots: SELECT, SELECT, O,X
Make sure to view the file's README, which contains more info on the game's controls. Also try to visit the QJ forums to see how Stealth Kill's been doing, and to see if there are any further details being revealed. Enjoy this download, which should serve to complement the other CS port that's also been a big favorite here.

» god damn...

Nothing but lamers 1st & 2nd posting and flaming all about

in this biotch. Nobody yet has addressed this app except for

one, calling it a crappy quake mod.

To that I say screw you, quake mod or not, I've been waiting

for somebody to create a FPS of CS for the PSP. I'll test it

and reply to what I think about it.

Putting it on memstick now. Gona try it out in a sec. Any1 have any experience of any of the previous releases?

by iStrife - 2007-03-04 10:18
» Great Job!

Pretty Darn Good!! Just tried it out and I'm quite impressed! Graphics are better and CS-Italy looks good. Not sure if anybody has experienced it being quite slow to render the textures though. I have noticed the floor seems to just be a flat grey color most of the time. Plays well considering how early things are.

» my opinion

Glitchy and basic but a far better CS than I've seen yet for the PSP and it's really a FPS! I give this Three Stars with plenty of room to grow. I hope we see refining/bug fixs and more things to come for this app. Awesome job.

» in addition

I'm glad to see a true FPS CS app for the PSP, I knew if I hung around here long enough it would eventually appear.

by Mortal Nemisis - 2007-03-04 12:15
» PSP's FPS Counter-Strike

Reminds me alot of CS1.6

I have too, noticed issues with the ground disappearing and I could of swore a chicken

attacked me!!! Graphics do need some more

work and the Grenade audio is Quake's. I've

toyed with the multiplayer section but obviously

need to spend more time there checking into it.

My son has my PSP right now so I can write this small review. Wicked Insider is correct, this has

been a long time coming and defenetly a great start. Thanks for continued development of this

game.

» Well

I would like this mod much better if it had three extra things: Less bugs (I know this is a WIP) Higher FPS, and when in Infrastructure mode, at least a Server to host IP addresses that are hosting CS.

Then I'd be white on rice on this all the time.

» awsome

this looks like it has really good potential. by the way i cant change maps either, and i can't respawn when i die

by asinine - 2007-03-04 15:36
» OMFG!

GREAATTTT GOD DAMN WORK!

Yes, a hosting for multiplay but I guess that would be

asking to much considering server costs.

Work out the graphicle glitches and tighten up the

rest of the app and it will be a stable release.

Looking forward to your future releases of this game.

Thanks

» awesome

this is and awesome game but i hope you fix alot of the stuff there soon you have alot of work to do if i could help i would

by Harp - 2007-03-04 19:45
» crappy quake mod

Yeah I noticed it too. It can't possibly already be at 0.4

If anything this release will put people off it in the future. Do yourself a favor and keep it tucked away till it hits 1.0

I'm not trying to discourage the creator for making this mod. Just needs a little more effort.

Go into multiplayer, create server, then choose your map. Then you can spawn bots using the usual method (select, select, O, X?)

» THANK YOU....

Guys its a Work in progress (WIP). Its still beta and he is still working on it. he said so himself why its lame. he released it b/c at first it was a proof of concept (POC) and didnt want to get in trouble like the time with the GBA emu. so that way no one will say that he stole someone elses work.
