Boxhead: PSP Style version 1.00: PSP Homebrew Idol entry |
Ó
It's a top-down shooter where your goal is to stay alive while you blast countless hordes of the undead. While the goal's straightforward, SG57 also included some interesting features that should keep you perked up even as you frag away (quoting the readme):
- Features:
- 8 Different Weapons
- 90+ Weapon Upgrades
- 2 Types of Enemies
- 3 huge maps each with their own highscore
- 3 Difficulties, each harder then the last
- Enable or Disable Devils (drastically makes game easier)
- Play your own MP3s and Atrac Files right from your /MUSIC/ or /PSP/MUSIC/ folders
- Interactive Menu - walk to your destination
- Built-In Game Guide with controls, etc.
- Good 'stereo' audio experience (explosions happen left of you , you'll hear them left of you out of the left speaker respectively, with all the action going on it is hard to forget about)
- Planned features for version 1.5:
- Ad-Hoc multiplayer
- More Enemies
- New Weapons
- 'Closet' feature (change the theme of the game)
- More

Comments [refresh]
I played it, and it has great potential, but right now its way way too buggy. I doubt he'll win merely because its just that buggy.
I didn't get even one bug. This version beats the hell out of the flash version. It's one of the best homebrew games I've seen so far. BTW I'm using a slim.
Keep up the good work SG57. This game is nearly flawless and on the first release.
Glad to have been a part of this ^_^
Quality homebrew right here folks!
It's a mindless shooter, but very polished and a lot of fun to play. My feedback :
Pluses...
* Excellent graphics
* Fun gameplay
* Perfectly smooth motion
Minuses...
* Pathing AI on enemies needs work. They go straight for the player for sure, but get stuck very easily
* Not a fan of the menu system. Intuitive, but not necessary (but this is just nit picking)
Other than that, this is shaping up to be a very high quality homebrew and one that will stay on my PSP long term. The 'pick up and just play' element is there in spades and for PSP gaming, that's damn perfect.
Plus, who the hell DOESN'T like mindlessly blowing away hordes of zombie?
hehehehe
Excellent homebrew!!!!
