Homebrew - Beta Scenery 2008 Contest - Chickey Chick v0.7sb - Image 1This might be the cutest entry to Scenery Beta 2008 yet. Called Chickey Chick, the game was inspired from the classic New Zealand Story from Taito, which was adorable.

Formerly known as Chipke, Chickey Chick is a platform game where you have to guide a chick through level after level of dangerous enemies. And all you have to defend against them are... eggs. Yes, eggs. Magic eggs. Very dangerous ones.

Ok, seriously, you pick up the eggs to throw them against an enemy. However, eggs will eventually hatch if you don't pick them up, and out comes a dragon. Yes, a dragon. I said they were magic, didn't I. Here's the changelog since the alpha version when it was still known as Chipke, as enumerated by the author:
  • Change your name to Chickey Chick.
  • It adds screen title, menu options, and a menu of tricks (unfold in the coming days, to keep the mystery).
  • New levels, enemies and screen punctuation highest.
  • Includes a level editor, unique for the release of the Beta Scenery 2008 (not appear in future versions).
  • Includes a Readme in the folder of the game, with anecdotes as interesting as that of the change of name or details about the development of the game.
