Beta for Visiting Day Out Now |

Ó
We've all imagined this scenario when we were kids - aliens coming down to earth, firing away their ray guns and taking the Principal as their test subject and there'll be no more classes. Ever.
Mike Blithell's Visiting Day capitalizes on those sinister daydreams of ours as it opens with, "It was a normal day at Blaid County Primary School, Gwent. Then, well, it wasn't. Alien spores began to fall from the sky, and with them, the invasion began." There are four mini-games for you to play, where you have the chance to stick it to those aliens. Gameplay for all mini-games are simple, all you have to do is to repeat the arrow sequence that will flash on the screen as fast as you can, otherwise your points will be halved.
Here's what Blithell has written on his blog about the public Beta release of his game intended for the PSP.
- This is a PC/MAC emulation of a psp game, for that reason the frame rate seems very low. This is because on the psp screen a lower frame rate is necessary. Also worth noting that the multiplayer mode is designed for a console which can be passed around a group, so no online matches I'm afraid.. something I may look into down the line
- The rotation of the console required for some of the games is faked with a rotating screen. This will be done in a far more interesting way on the actual release.
- Don't try and put this version on your PSP, it won't work. The PSP version will be released soon
- No music, but there will be, and of course you guys will be the first to know
- Please feel free to give advice, and constructive crit. I really want to gauge opinion leading up to the release, which I'm now planning for the end of September (which will neatly coincide with the 1st anniversary of this blog). I will read every comment I get and give feedback (and credit) to those who's advice helps the game.
If you want to give the game a test run, just click on the read link below the article. Once on the page, just click the image and then "X" on your keyboard and you're good to go.

gwent is in wales, it's where I live, so it made sense to set the game there... (blaid pronounced 'blythe' is welsh for 'bad').
the game is flash, so you'll be able to play it on your psp via the web browser, still sorting out who will distribute the game.. but it will be FREE!
thanks for the kind words guys, and be sure to check out my blog for more info on the game as and when its available www.mikebithell.blogspot.com
