Here's something to prove that the PSP is fully capable of running homebrew 3D games - thanks to SANiK who has just released his Mario demo for the PSP. As the title suggests, this is not a full title and therefore is quite short. But this demo shows that by using C, you can create a 3D environment just like this one and hopefully will encourage more developers to move away from 2D games and into the world of 3D. Here's what SANiK said about this release:
This demo is never going to become a full game. It lags at certain points but could be sped up 90%. My little Mario Demo is just a taste of what could be done if one actually tries (with just 6 days to code it + 1 day to port it to the PSP)
This isn't within everyone's ability, and of course depending on the homebrew game, 2D could be the better of the two. However this demo illustrates that 3D homebrew game is not impossible (take AnonymousTipsters' ThrottleX as evidence for that!) and therefore SANiK is giving developers the chance to finish this game; which apparently can be achieved by starting from scratch using poly.c and math.c.
Developers, download the source code; homebrew gamers, download the demo. Check out the potential of the PSP!

Your sitting on the couch playing Mario on your PSP and your pot smoking friend comes in and not realizing the version your playing begins going into an 80's acid flashback and thinks that his mind is melting.
Yeah I could see that.

I challenge anyone to match this, let alone top it.
If I could code half as well as the dedicated programmers that give us such a wonderful homebrew scene, I'd chip in myself.

Seriously though, It's very cool looking. One of the best homebrew examples in a long while. I want 3D Goombas!
Also, if you swap the level names around you can play both levels.

The 2d screen is just creating the illusion of 3d.
So by your logic all games are 2d
