This guy simply doesn't know how to stop! I've said it before and I'll say it again - zx-81 is an emulation machine! And yet again, we've got a new release of the oh-so-popular GBA emulator, PSPVBA. Now at v1.2.3, this update makes the best GBA emulator, even better. Here's what he had to say: "Who said i give up? I never give up when i got ideas to make things going better. Here is a new version of PSPVBA the GameBoy Advance Emulator for PSP, which is a bit faster (up to 6% on v-rally 3) compared to v1.2.2 !"
And here's a list of what you can expect from the latest release:
- Rewrite critical parts of graphic emulation source code
- Rewrite critical parts of the ARM emulator to make it going faster
- Review memory cache strategy
- Bug fix and code cleaning

So dar ive tried only castlevania aria of sorrow and its at playable speed.(or close enough) all though rhere are too many monsters on the screen it slows a bit, but when i kill them it becomes faster. So thats just gives me all the more reason to kill them.

well pokemon red fire version is almost playable ( with the settings set to skip 2 frames) well i am playing it and it works fine. woot! keep up the good work and then we can all work on the nentendo 64. in about 2 months we will have 100% working all emulators good work

This emulator sucks. You can´t play a game with joy. It is all to slow. i cant belive you guys that say this is a good release. Wait untill it is playable (like devhook) and relise the app than. suckers....

Try making one yourself sometime... it ain't easy. if nothing else this deserves praise for technical achievement alone.
That said, i'm still not using it untill i can get Metroid Fusion at a playable speed.
I think that z is a great guy/coder to do this GBA release but I agree, how many updates has this thing gotten and we're still no where no full speed let alone good sound
take NJ for example - made the neo geo cd, neo geo and cps1 emu. They are all full speed and cps1 is still beta!!! none of this release 16 diff versions. lets wait until it plays well then release

at least he does it for free, he is kind enough to take time off to code, he does have a job,
take the very early gba emulators and compare it to this one you will see a huge difference in speed. thanks zx-81, but can you please change the menu button to L+R trigger please.

Is there anyway I can port my PC VBA Saves so they work with this emulator? They use the same save file type but I put my PC VBA saves in the save folder and I named everything right. I try to load my PC VBA saves but I get a cant load error on this emulator. Help is appreciated.

And you happen to NOT know that FF I,II, IV, and Tactics advance is available for GBA. Not to mention V and VI soon coming out for it. So that makes 3 more extra FF games plus Pokemon. Also other great games like Fire emblem and way better megaman games. Wow do your research before making a somewhat intellectual post.

No that's is just YOUR OPINION.
The sound quality is proven to be much better for the gba then the snes for games like SNES. Check out FFIV for example. Not only does it add an EXTRA dungeoun, but it's sound, graphics, AND dialouge is MUCH better than the one for snes. Shut the hell up if your just going to be biased to your opinion. Sure some games are worse on GBA, but most are way better.

The same games from the super ness, that is out now for the GBA, are worse versions of the original games, if someone dont belive it, jus get the two emulator runing on the pc, a see for yourself!
Those games have something new? sure, thei are almost like remakes of the originals, but the music is a litle worse..and the grafics too..
Now, put final Fantasy down of souls playing, and see the grafics..SquareEnyx has improve something like the grafics for this game? they look like a week super ness runing..
and the remakes of ff are way beter, but still, the super nesse versions are much beter, if someone say is not, or you are blind, or you are just a kid who think pokemom is not a game for just kids...rs

hey remember a couple of days or so when zx told us that he was pretty much done updating his emulator because he had already optomized it as much as he thought he would be able to, so all of a sudden tons of ppl started bashing him and telling him he was *****, and today with this update of "up to 65 faster" which is only a few fps more, u guys all satrt telling him hes the *****. why do so many ppl here have to be 2 faced??

Dude, it's spelled graphics. There is no f in the word graphics. You cannot bash other users and talk to them about being children because they play pokemon...if you do not have the brainpower to spell words correctly. I would think that if you are old enough to truly appreciate the SNES for what it's worth then you would be old enough to have good grammar but with the way America's school systems are going these days, maybe it isn't your fault.

Holy crap, Klonoa is actually now very playable. To be honest I wasn't expecting much from this update, but this is awesome! But now my Azumanga Daioh rom doesn't work
i tried megaman zero 4 and naruto ninja's council and mmz4 is running much better and naruto is almost running at normal spd now, no problem!

It is a 32 bit machine, the Game Boy Advance has a custom 32-bit 16.8-MHz ARM processor whereas the snes had only a 16 bit - so who's smoking some ***** now homeboy?

anyways i like all of the updates you make. i've wanted to play gba on the psp since homers rin. Once it hits fullspeed (without the aid of frameskip hopefully) this is gonna be my favorite emulator, next to SNES (yes snes. its not crap) and Daedalus N64 if it ends up running well. Dont ever quit making updates until there is nothing else to update, and dont let anyone put you down (although nobody seems to say anything harsh about this).
With the last versions of pspvba being not really faster than the older ones i thought i could never play good gbagames on my psp. But now i can just thank u zx-81.With this version i can finally play a lot of games with a good framerate.

i think it is advance wars or final fantasy tactics, only played advance wars so forgive me if im wrong. However i do not know about the playability, i am also wondering that too.
As far as i know Grafix ( and Grafic too) is a name used in Europe ( not just England) most of the time to describe GrafiX or Grafic as set of C++ files for graphics and animation programming.
Many years ago it was used to describe what we call today as Graphics in Latin too, but spell diferent.
I don't know if you will find this name on some online dictionary, is old and not used anymore by most of the people..

Someone here remember the TurboGrafix console? it was call Pc engine in Japan i think that's what the name is for, Turbo - Graphics, or in old word, Turbo - Grafix... hehe
I would rather pay for something that I can actually play, then not be able to play something for free.
