[UPDATE] MVSPSP v1.0A - memory card mod

PSPMikeDX just compiled NJ's Neo Geo emulator for PSP into one neat zip file, and it's now up for grabs! According to MikeDX, he took the source from NJ's page "and created a 1.0 binary release". He adds that you guys should refrain from contacting NJ about this "unofficial release", and admits that this isn't different from v0.2.2, although he guarantees that this one works.

The dev says he might make updates to this version, and may include a Wi-fi multiplayer in the near future.

In the readme, it says that SvC Chaos (SNK vs. Capcom) isn't working in this version (but one of our readers, Yo Mamma, said that it worked in his PSP, so you still might want to give it a try), but don't let that get you down, as this version's got a whole roster of games for you to immerse yourself on. Double Dragon, The King of Fighters 1994-2003, Metal Slug 2-5, and Samurai Showdown II-V are included in the list, among tons of other games, so you might want to check this out.

MikeDX is open for suggestions, so I have some: do give him a shout-out. Give his app a test drive by clicking the download link below.

UPDATE: MikeDX has updated MVSPSP to v1.0A. The new version allows users to enable or disable the memory card, which consequently gets rid of the flashing "memory card options" screen. If you want to save your virtual memory cards, create a MEMCARD directory in your PSP/GAME/MVSPSP. This will prompt the emulator to store your memorycards in that directory.

SVC

umm, the 79.4 megabyte SVC Chaos actually DOES work on this. Hope sound can be added, even the lowest sampling rate possible would still be excellent.. Running My own mp3 in the backround through IRSHELL and the game is still playable, so , not sure, but wouldn't that mean sound can actually be included? I hope...

by - 2006-10-22 15:54:13
nice work

im running fw 2.6 and got this running pretty quickly. only tested samurai showdown 1 so far. you need the neogeo.zip to make it work. usually the neogeo.zip youll find online doenst have all the files you need in it. so as long as you can get the right zip, it should work on at least up to 2.71. great work!
