YoyoFR and Laxer3a have updated their amazing SNES emulator, SnesPSP_TYL. And as always, there's a long list of fixes and new features.
First, the fixes:
- Key combos are now allowed in-game when not assigned to a specific feature
- Annoying in-game popups should be gone
- Sound issues after loading a savestate should be gone
- Noise issue when starting a game fixed
- Now should exit without crashing on PSP 2.XX
- Uncompressed ROMs now have loading progress bar too
- Improved IPS patch handling, still not perfect. Try to IPS patch your game before putting them on PSP
- Credits screen fixed
- ME version : Started to implement a "pseudo sleep mode". PSP clock is reduced, screen is turned off and buttons won't respond
- GUI reworked
- Beep sounds when selecting stuff in Menu & File Browser can now be turned Off in Menu / Misc / Pad Beep
- Sound output volume doubled
- Added a 300Mhz setting for eLoader 0.97 (333Mhz won't work on this eLoader version)
- Savestate export to snes9x (using snes9x slot 1). Copy the SAVES/.000 to your PC and load in snes9x.
- Little intro - Press a button to skip it if you don't like it

how is the speed on 2.00+? Did it improve alot of games at all?
im using eboot loader 9 on a 2.0 psp and every time i try to load a rom it gives me an error saying it could not allocate memory

this emu is great works on 2.6 and runs most of the roms pretty smooth good job keep up the good work
One of the first things you'll notice is that a lot of nice features have been added to the interface, including a few fading effects and a random background feature. Nice.
Also, the emulator no longer freezes for me (on version 2.00), so that's nice.
Unfortunately, the emulator runs rather slowly. Perhaps a few settings must be tweaked.

Is the background supposed to change all the time or only when you click 'Randomize BG'?
'cuz mine is always the same background unless i physically select and press O on 'Randomize BG'

Anyone one know why only some of the files show up? It's done this before, but I can't remember how I fixed it.
Not much into the old NES, but NesterJ is supposed to be the best one. I think it works on all FWs

Is this any faster than the previous release of this newer emu?? I kicked back down to version 3 due to slow speeds in SF2 etc.. Any better this time? I would love to run this rather than .3 with all they new icons etc..

Why not focus on making it run well first before tucking in crap features? I still got my 1.5 thankfully, and am waiting for an SNES emu that runs as well as the NES one.

I'm running Seiken Densetsu 3 and getting 30+ framerate all the way through. I was having some problems with the save states loading up without sound, but that seems to be fixed. This is one of the best emu's out there. Bravo.

I'm running 2.00 and every time I try to run a ROM it says:
"cannot allocat memory"
"Cannot init snes, memory issure"

Couldnt get to boot with into version. i am running 2.01, Bock97 and eMenu final. Stuck at white screen. Downloaded version w/o into from the comment #1, liquidtenmillio n and works OK! Much faster in Sf2 Alpha than previous 4.1. Not as quick as version 3, but good enough to leave it on my memstick!! Nice Emu.
p.s. tried to run a background sound in menu and froze up my psp. i didnt know it did not have a pre loaded soundfile. or does it? anyway it froze up so i wont be doin' that.... Nice anyway.

Much better than 1.4.1 - no more speed issues on games like Mario Kart, Street Fighter Turbo, and Fatal Fury 2.

Choose ME. I'm good looking.
It is the USER mode build for 2.00+ with the eloader. It's not kxploited, so it won't even load on 1.5.

Also, report what version of firmware you are using, what version eloader, and if you are using the emenu or not.
300mhz is too slow for accurate + accelerated, all stars and mario karts just doesnt work right without 333...dont understand why they defaulted it lower, oh well, easy fix

This emu needs a Background selection thing, because i don't like random backgrounds...otherwise, great emulator, i love the interface.
but we need some help on the "cannot allocate memory" issue. i'm totally stuck.
I have FW 2.01. This is the best SNES emu so far, but you'll need to tweek a bit. Change Frameskip to 2. You may also turn the sound frequency below 44000, ie. 22500, 11100. Turning off the sound might help too.

Yes! Works like a charm on my 2.00
For 2.00 users who feel that this release is slow, just tweak the options a little bit becuase the default clock speed in the first use is 300, get it up to 333. And sound quality is set to 44100, take it down to 22050.
Frameskip will be set at 0, this should be at AUTO.
If you've been getting crashes at the white intro screen, i found out that it will only crash when you ran another homebrew before it, try using it with a fresh, restarted PSP.

The last release was great but the number one feature that was needed badly was increased sound volume..i used to have to turn it up almost full blast just to hear it..and another thing..if you are a 2.0 user and you think this emu is slow try the me version on a 1.5 psp and you will see how it is supposed to be played..i played zelda and mario at 60 fps with a frameskip set to auto it was perfect..so perfect that i peed myself with no 15 yr old girl under me....so if you are dumb enough to upgrade your psp dont complain about slow speeds.
well r kelly your statement may be true for those who bought their psp with 1.5 or 2.0 but everyone who bought it already with 2.x isn't dumb. Just out of luck !

Awsome EMU, love the music in the menu you can switch on, really gives a great feeling.
This is great and I love it to bits, top work! But... I'm still finding that on some games there is still no sound on some games that I've saved and then restarted. But still great work!
They fixed those aspects of this emu, and now its good.

It runs perfect on fw 2.00 now, the intro's great and I'm with #55 about the wallpaper selector, it'd be better than randomize for sure.

anyone else having trouble with mario kart, it works great for about a minute, then video freezes, anybody having the same problem?
Am I doing something wrong, or do others have this problem? The games I've tried it with are Super Mario RPG & the English Seiken Densetsu 3
Great job though, I think this is incredible.
I've got a 1.5 & running v0.42ME version if that helps diagnose the problem.

Great work guys, the GUI is such an overall improvment and the you guys have taken the time give us the option to customize ourself as well is just icing on the cake.

once its download.. open it using Winrar.. snestyl will open.. click on the name.. you will see.. 1.00 and 1.50 folder.. if you have psp with 1.50 folder.. click on it and then you will see the snestyl again.. transfer it in GAME folder on your MS.
if you have 2.00+ firmware.. use the 1.00 folder

Hmm, but I'm running system version 2.70 do I have to downgrade, or do I choose one of those?
I figured it out, but everytime I go to try to play it says "Data is corrupted"

I also get a white screen on the intro.
No problem I download the sources and removed the intro screen ( //intro_anim(); ) and it works. I also removed all the scePowerSetCloc kFrequency() instructions in the code so that I can set 333Mhz at the eloader. That way I can still use 0.97 and still get 333MHz. Anyway great work with the exit bug.
2.7 breaks all homebrew except flash.
you can only play flash movies/games (macromedia flash)
until 2.7 is hacked (not likely) you cant play things like this sNES emulator (custom software)

this emu jsut keeps getting better and better! Love the new .4 interface, hope sleep mode gets implemented soon. Finally Yoshis Island works, at a playable level. Not to mention the Adhoc play! Wicked.

Its a standalone web browser originally included in pspradio prerelease 21 or something., Anyways, its great, snes9x and link2 are THE homebrew apps to have, so go check it out. I think you can get the latest here on psp updates, for both mentioned homebrew programs.

i find this the fastest snes emu for the psp as of yet, but than again i'm also using fw 1.5
will people try readin the readme before coming here and about the sound after a loaded state just g abckinto the snes menu and exit it and the sound SHOULD be there works all the time for me but bout 80% of the time with my friend the white screen just download the build on the first comment which removes the movie that plays before hand hope this helps

this thing is incredible...i think I can finally let go of my 'Y' version...plus i was able to upload my old game saves so i don't have to replay another 30 hours of Chrono Trigger.
I tried it on my 2.6 psp not expecting alot (beacause of people complaning "Its to slow 0.3 was faster" thats bull!!! this one is the fastest I have ever played!!!) On super mario bros super stars I am ranging from about 45-60 FPS ON 2.6 WITH NO FRAME SKIP!!!! and the menu is AMANZING!!!!

k i got the sucker running, iam pretty happy, but one problem, i cant find the rom files anywhere..... do you guys know what the problem is?
The fixes since the last version are great. This works just as well as .3 now and in some cases better, depending on settings. The menu and intro are also awesome. I've had no problems with crashes or anything, I'm running this using eloader .96 ( for some reason I like it more than 97) and on a 2.0 fw psp. This tempts me to downgrade again just to try ME mode.....
this don't come with no ROms.
and don't try to ask where to find any either. but when you DO find some, put them in the non % folder, inside another folder named ROMS

Hello everybody, I just vbought a PSP yesterday and the NERD side of myself is having fun with this little jewel of technology. However, I downloaded this emulator, but I don't know HOW TO instal it ! please could someone give me a hint there. thank you.
Good emu, I like to lick dat @hit and slap it off the table.
Now is the time for all people like me who ride 4 hours a day between work (no, I'm not driving... that would be dangerous) to rejoice and play some serious snes! The speed hacks are excellent, I'm stuck on a 2.6 and just about everything but dialogue overlay games run very very well.

oh i got it working like 2 mins after i posted lol, well a lil update, the intro was awesome, but there still a lag in the games....i changed the cpu speeds, but there are still laggs..... you guys know how i can make this faster?
Try setting your cpu speeds at 300Mhz or use this settings here>>>Use PSP accel.+accu.soft.,frame skip 2-4,is the highest i can recomend.Turn your Vsync OFF.Sounds,use 44100HZ.PSP Clockspeed 300Mhz then save your settings as default.
I run mine at auto frameskip, 300 clockspeed (333 is slower somehow??) and 440000 audio. most games run great. even the 5 different sf2's i have on it!!
Now i want a good MAME on psp for us 2.01+. i have heard that if you DO own the REAL GAME you can DL roms from coolroms or romnation? Anyone??
I tried the output suggestions, but Kirby Super Star runs very slow. Is this game an exception? What games are confirmed to run 100% smooth?
works great except every time i load the program, it says saving functions are disabled because of low battery power, even when battery is at 100%!! also wont save settings i set as default, wont write to memory stick, says its missing a USB driver when i try to connect to my mac, im using 2.6

I have the same problem as #68. It's no sound after I load a state! I've only tried Super Metroid yet, on a FW 1.5 and with the ME-version.

1st of all i have snes9x on pc with 750roms
the thing is my roms dont have an extension
and for example Mario world is only 516k but when i start snes9x and chose mario world in the emulator it as 4meg ..
and then on my psp
i installed everything
i can start snes9x and it detect a roms folder but it doesnt detect any roms it can only go in roms , prolifes and save folders

While playing Earthbound. I'd decided to try my hand at using some of the many codes out there for the game, but for one reason or another, neither the Pro Action Replay, or the Game Genie Codes would work. When viewing the codes after inputting them, it looks like they are being treated as Raw codes, rather than PAR or GG codes.

the emulator on PSP only read .smc
so they won't show up at all

this may be quite the noob question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere else. Where do I save the emulator to on the PSP? I tried saving it to the GAME folder, but when I enter it, it says "Corrupt Data"

I got the PSP for the emulators - and this does not disappoint. But DK Country plays like Samus in water - is the normal or are there settings I can adjust? Running ME version on a 1.5

I basically leave everything as it is. But one thing you gotta tweak is the FRAMESKIP. should set FrameSkip to AUTO. might also wanna save default while youre at it.

Okay if you have 2.0+,or using eloder try to delete the Menucache on your eloader folder and run any emulators or homebrew you got .(Menucache is self generated so you shouldnt worry about loosing it)

I have a 2.0 firmware unit, w/EBOOT Loader v0.9 by Fanjita & SNES_PSP TYL 0.3 running & evidently working...I loaded up a bunch of roms in the roms folder (all the files are .smc) they appear in the emulator, but when I click on each game I get the message "cannot initialize roms" & "cannot allocate memory" does anyone have any ideas about this? has anyone had this problem & fixed it? please??

Okay, so first off, I have the 2.70 software on my PSP, and after I put the emuator into the GAME folder I turn on the PSP and go to game>memory stick>and I see the logo for the emulator but when I try to enter it, the PSP says the data is corrupt, any help is appreciated.

I'm having technical difficulties in some certain games, namely the Final Fantasy games. So the menu has been keyed to pressing both shoulder buttons. If I am correct, you use those buttons to run away. Yet when I re-key the menu opening bit, I STILL cannot run away. Any help?

Where the hell is the new update, is yoyofr in some mental state where there is no need to improve. I'll give ya' one make Wi-Fi a lot more stable, it always flushes the damn network! I don't move and it loses synchronization .
