Ó
Developer Zx-81, who was also behind PSPCAP32 and PSPMSX, is announcing the release of PSPVE. As its name implies, this homebrew application will enable the Sony PlayStation Portable to run games originally meant for the Vectrex gaming system. PSPVE is based on the VecX emulator originally developed by Valavan Manohararajah for platforms such as Windows and Linux. This being an initial release, Zx-81 warns that there's much work to do. For starters, the sound is still rough, and the emulator's speed is still in need of improvement.
Those interested in downloading PSPVE will want to pick up the file bundle appropriate to their PSP's firmware: There's one for firmware 1.50, and one for firmware 3.xx. We've also enclosed the emulator's source code in case you're wondering about how it works. In any case, you'll want to view the included readme for full details on installing and using this application.
Those interested in hearing the latest regarding this app will want to visit ZX-81's Homebrew Releases section at the QJ.NET PSP Development Forum.
