PSPUAE v0.62 Christmas Edition |
Ó
Well, if you've run out of games to play this Christmas, you're in luck! You can try out a new version of the Ubiquitous Amiga Emulator on your PSP. The PSPUAE Dev Team decided to hand out a Christmas Edition of their nifty Amiga emulator, making it the PSPUAE v0.62 Christmas Edition. While they definitely won't be putting actual ROMs here, this new version has some goodies for users. They've put in some Christmas game demos for you to try out. These are Cannon Fodder, Lemmings, and Bullfrog's Psycho Santa, which all have their own basic control scheme.
If you want to install this on your PSP, please check the READ-FIRST file that's in the download to get directions on how to install the application on your specific firmware so you don't do something unseemly to your handheld. It will also have the instructions of general usage of the emulator. Afterwards, you can check the README-XMAS PACK file for more information on this specific version and the controls for the included demos.
Before we go, here's the list of changes in v0.62. Enjoy the download, and may Psycho Santa never go anywhere near your house anytime soon.

This one also has FULL SCREEN MODE! >:-D
Thanks and Merry Christmas :)
In my opinion, which I am entitled to, all updates for PSPUAE are useless unless they contain speed improvements. I'm not saying they should quit their development, and I know these kind of reactions are useless aswell, but it annoys the f*ck out of me not being able to play Superfrog with decent framerate :P
You dont see a full 16:9 amiga screen as a noticable update? I understand what you're saying - but theyre working on the speed too, Ive noticed a speed improvement recently with this package, even though its been slight.... as soon as the new C package has been tamed we're gonna see a BIG speed increase anyways. . . the devs are working on that. ;-)
and we are going to use the media engine for speed increase
how do you turn on frameskip?
thanks Emu, thinkp for saving me the bother or replying there! stangler: the readme covers all such questions, and is VERY thorough. FS can be accessed from the PSP: Display page in the menu, and can be set as Auto or from 1-8. This can also be changed by using L+R+left or right on the d-pad. superfrog is crap anyway. hehe
Thinkp and Ric are my Heroes
For the frameskip, I'd recommend using either 2 or 3, as if you have it set to auto, the game seems to skip all over the place... not constant enough :/ also if you really want speed, all you need to do is turn off the sound, you should get near 100% speed this way (turrican 2 is fun!)
