PSPInt

It has barely been a week since developer-par extraordinaire, Zx-81, released the PSPInt v1.0.3. To further improve your gaming experience, he just updated it to v1.0.4. This Intellivision emulator for the PSP emanates a sense of nostalgia, as this is one of those consoles that became an integral part of a lot of peoples' childhood. If you are new to this, you better read the README.txt file first before doing anything else.

Here is what's new with this version:
  • Second joystick support
  • Add keys to the virtual keyboard
  • Option to toggle between players
  • Auto racing works now on this emulator
According to Zx-81, save state feature is still missing, "I've spent hours on it, but without any success (very unstable, it freeze your PSP one time over two...)". Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public license, read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.

Ask Sony for new games/products and give them your money, but please don't tell to homebrew coders in general, and me in particular, what we have to do lol ... don't like it ? don't download it :).

Don't worry, not much people will download this anyways. 99% of the visitor population on this site probably don't even know wtf this is except another thingy with incredably stale 4bit screenshots of something people played before 0.000000001% of the world population owned any sort of gaming console or computer.

And we are not telling you what to do, feel free to code what ever you want, im just sick of getting updates on this site of useless stuff no one really wants to see instead of updates on the stuff we all want to know about like the n64 emulators and stuff.

I think PSPU is just desperate on things to post updates about, hence allot of the opinionated/rants/rumor updates as well. PSPU is starting to loose my intrests with this lack of news-worthy updates.

And im sure they are old, smelly, washed up and probably live in their parent's basement.

Anything older than NES, or less popular than the Neo-Geo CD that gets emulated would be considered failures, especially when they are as buggy as this one. The reason they should be considered failures is becuase theres not enough people who are able to appreciate the time spent on it. Keep this stuff to yourself and retirement home friends.

I think what ZX-81 is doing is really great stuff. True, it may not be Next-Gen, current-gen, or a couple of Gen's ago, but thanks to people like him, we can carry almost the entire history of videogames on our PSP.

To be able to play a range of games from Intellivision to the Sega Genesis to the N64 (the N64 emu will get better, it just needs time) on a single device was unimaginable (to me, anyways) just over a year ago. When one factor's in that all these EMUs are given to us free of charge, I fail to see where people even have the right to complain.

I'm more fearful of these complaints driving away Homebrew developers (e.g., Monkey64). For what's it's worth ZX-81, I'm very grateful.

You guys are funny. If ZX-81 released a PS1 emulator that worked at full speed, you guys would still find find something in it to ***** about. Nobody wants to hear your negative, uneducated comments about systems you've never seen/heard of. If you think you're so smart, go make your own GBA & N64 emulator since that's all you *****s seem to talk about.

ZX-81, please don't stop making these great emulators. For every 1 ***** here that complains about them and doesn't even know what in Intellivision is, there are 10 people who are downloading and enjoying your fine emus. Keep up the good work!

omg 10 people!!!!. *fall on floor*

Well if he did release a full working ps1 emulator, not only would he top the download charts but he would be more famous than strmnnrmn. Yeah there would be the few people saying **** about it but it would look allot better than than being shamed in how stupid of a console emulated and having such a small download count.

So whats next? gonna work on a game and watch emulator, or wait, i know what about another pong emulator? Glad to see you like to challenge yourself.

# Old games could re-inspire better new games for tomorrowDrNicket 2006-06-10 05:08
For everyone that thinks these old games are lame because they're old, yet thinks NES or SNES is still cool, just wait 5 seconds and someone a year or two younger than you will think you're an old fart for liking those systems.

I'm 28, so I'm not a kid and I'm hardly over the hill. I grew up on Intellivision, Coleco, Atari and the rest (YES even PONG!!!), so I do appreciate these games.

Graphics aren't everything. AD&D Treasure of Tarmin competes well with any dungeon crawler out there today in every area EXCEPT graphics, and it's 3-D!! If someone were to say use the Unreal Engine and remake the game exactly as it is, but with the new graphics... you kids would be peeing yourself just to buy (or pirate... grrr) a copy.

So stop yer whinin' and go waste yer time somewhere else lads! You're only welcome where you contribute something worthwhile. Say something nice, or constructive or not at all!

You act as if this is worse than any of the actual games being released for the PSP. Why can't someone be interested in something like this? It was a keystone in video game history. But nevermind that. Go ahead and bash it. Graphics matter. Nostalgia is dead.

Are you the same people who won't see a movie unless it's released this year, has flashy special effects, and stars Tom Cruise? Or, scratch that. Won't see a Tom Cruise movie because a *****ty Comedy Central show mocked him. I'm sure in several years "Luamines" will be more appreciated than Intellivision by gamers.

And whoever immitated Semi simply because he supported zx-81..Die in a raging fire.

# old schoolGuest 2006-06-10 06:08
Im 15 and grew up with the snes, genesis/mega drive and N64 and although i havent played these older or as the critics say "outdated" consols, I can fully understand were you are coming from when you describe them them as "classics"

Games now arn't what they used to be, I dont get the same feeling i got with the snes or the genesis, evrything seems almost to real, to true to life, and face it, living is boring, thats why we escape intot he fantisy of games.

i will never forget games like sonic, mario, gol deneye, zelda oot, even snowboard kids lol,

why? either its me only liking the games i played during my childhood or if games nowdays realy have gone to the dumps, when anyone says the word GAME, thats what i think of, CLASSICS there is NO game out for the ps2, gamecube xbox, or any other consol that i would play again and again and never get bored of, but on the classic consols that i have grown up with, when i replay them, time stands still, then it feels like im back in 1996 playing street fighter, and it fells better than gta or any EA games that all feel like sequels to the same game, where everything feels like its been used before in the last game you baught.

in a way, games have lost their soul, what makes them different from any other game, I mean, compare sonic to another game, compair mario 64, zelda, goldeneye or perfect dark to any other game,

They are all different, they all ahve unique quality's that make them what they are,

and these "old" games are just the same, because its not just the game, its the memories from back when you played them, "CLASSIC" ...its the joy they braught you rushing back and filling you with excitement and you retrace the footsteps of your gaming past.

playing 2 player with a friend who you ahve lost contact with, who you havent thaught about for yoears, you think "if i didnt play mortal combat with him every sunday, would have forgoten him completely"

Personaly, i think video games are magic. I think they need to be tresured by all generations that were lucky enough to have them, and the next time you get a video game you realy like, enjoy it, because once its over, its unlikely that the joy will come back, untill 10 or more years later, you think to yourself," I remember that game, that was fun"

So you get out your psp4 and play halo 3 on it , it dosent matter if its old or outdataed, its the memories it gave you that are the true joy. its remembering who you played it with, and the fact that you can replay them memorys time and time again, is a gift worth keeping.

# wHy!!! this is for you 32nd post cluckGuest 2006-06-10 08:18
ok firstly for number 32nd post boy. Maybe you are an old guy that wants to rehash some his old school games on his psp and hey man thats cool and all but is there any reason for hoping someone cant reproduce. ... I mean thats just wrong.. secondly do you actually think that an emulator like this belongs on a portable system in our day and age? Who the hell plays this crap?? HONESTLY?? or an even better question would be do you think that i should praise some nimrod that thinks he is contributing to the so called scene and isnt doing anything but slamming it back to the last century.. when are these small minded people gonna realize that the majorities want to see something fresh and not something our parents played. the NES is as far back as any of this should go and should be the standard for any of this trash i've been seeing lately. You want praise yoou want recognition the what you do is find a way to author a new game for our psp (the 1.5's anyway) not pirate but actually make a damn game as i've been seeing lately on the news it is possible now to do this just too expensive to have it stamped on umd's so give it to us in iso format and call it good and we will call you GOD. p.s INTEVION ?? SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

The funny thing is that people keep crying about how these 'old' emulators don't belong on a modern system like the PSP but companies are constantly making classic compilations for these systems. Remember 'Intellivision Lives' and 'Atari Anthology' for PS2/GC/Xbox?

If these games get released on a major platform, then obviously enough people still give enough ***** for the companies to publish them. And they even make money at it too. Retards.

What is the point of having the option to comment when all there is is flaming. First of all, Zx-81, don't listen to any of these peoples crappy comments, they are wrong, 156 people have already downloaded this emulator, so don't even listen. Because you know what, people never will show support for developers or coders or anyone that does good work. It never shows, and PSPUpdates is a community that has turned into that. At one point comments were very scarce on tons of things, now it is just flaming. It's just plain stupid.

Oh, and Qj.net remove any unregistered people, dont let people post unless they are registered, I remember when it was like that....so much less flaming. I knew the new qj.net thing would be horrible....it just proves that you shouldn't fix something that isn't broken. Because pspupdates.net was surely not broken.

The first ammendment grants us the right to have be able to state our opinions in these comments. You don't have to agree with them nor do you have to even read them becuase that is your right as well. Unregistered comments allow users to truely statre what they feel without being worried about other people strongly dissagreeing allowing the sometimes unwanted truth of how many many people feel.
