PSPColem Updated to v1.0.6 |
Ó
With the discontinuation of PSPVBA, Zx-81 has had time to update his other emulator projects, adding some of the refinements first achieved in PSPVBA to make his other emulators faster and more practical. With PSPAtari being updated yesterday, Zx has moved on to update another one of his emulators, this time for the ColecoVision video game system.
PSPColem is a port of Marat Fayzullin's Colem, a program which emulates the ColecoVision videogame system. It's running on FreeBSD, HP-UX, SunOS, Solaris, Linux, as well as other Unix systems, and with the help of everyone's favourite emulator coder Zx-81, on the PSP.
Here's the changelog for PSPColem v1.0.6:
- Emulator menu reorganisation (new menu for settings)
- New icons and background image with help from crait
- Battery status is now displayed in the emulator window
- Added a watchdog to automatically return to the emulator menu when the battery is very low (< 5%)
- New feature to save and load a distinct setting file for each games
- Added keyboard change skin option (you can add your own virtual keyboard images in the graphics directory).
- Speed limiter option
- Delete files option (in the file selector)
- Screenshots are now saved in PNG format instead of BMP
- Huge speed improvement (that's why there is a speed limiter now)
- Bug fix

to work on a coleco vison emulator? correct me if im wrong but isn't gameboy advance better than coleco vison? i apreciate the work you do but still, cmon. =/
Pretty sure he quit the gba emu, because it didn't have the potential to surpass gbSP, so it would be a waste of time to continue it.
Pauridius,
Zx-81 quit because he could get nowhere near the speed of gpSP, due to the nature of the VBA emulator he was porting. You want GB Advance? Check out the freshly released gpSP v0.7
On the other hand, if you owned a Coleco and had lots of fun playing Donkey Kong, Zaxxon, etc. on it, here's your chance to play them again.
Personally I play PSPAtari a lot (400/800/XL/XE/5200), also by Zx-81.
i helped with the graphics
and to pspupdates.qj.net, please change my name
i do not have a capital 'c' in my name. its just crait, not Crait
This is one of my favorite emulators for the PSP. Thought 1.0.5 was good enough to be the final version but now here's 1.0.6 with a HUGE speed increase. Just keeps getting better.
One complaint though...whenever I exit a game and go back to the ROM selection screen, the rom list is all messed-up and I have a hard time making out what the game names are. Maybe it has something to do with the long file names on my roms but I dunno. Wasn't like that in 1.0.5 though.
Sorry for that, it has been fixed :)
thank you very much
Please map the Home key so we can exit using that. Also, if you can make the audio closer to what the Colecovision sounds like that would be great.
Maybe a raster effect for the video so it doesn't look so jagged. smoother would be better.
Keep up the good work!

AAAAA! Colico vision! This could be a fun afternoon!
