PSPCAP32: Amstrad CPC Emulator for PSP v1.3.1 - Image 1Homebrew developer Zx-81 has announced the release of  PSPCAP 32: Amstrad CPC Emulator for PSP v1.3.1.

For those who haven't heard of this program, it is an emulator for Amstrad CPC464, CPC664, and the CPC6128 computers. The latest version of this application has quite a few improvements including some speed improvements, better sound, and a few bugfixes.

Users who were using an older version of PSPCAP 32 will be happy to know that the game can now run at fullspeed even when using GU rendering. It can churn out 45 FPS at 222 MHz using fast mode and even breaks the 50 FPS barrier at 266 MHz. Here's the full change log of the emulator:
  • Major Speed improvements, it's really fullspeed even using GU rendering !
  • 45 fps at 222Mhz using the fast mode, >50 fps for any mode at 266Mhz.
  • Games on disk are now automatically loaded on startup !
  • Menu to explore the disk content and possibly load files with Basic RUN" command
  • Sound improvements
  • Add several news options such as one to display (or not) the border, select disk startup modes etc ...
  • Bug fix in the keyboard settings menu (when the virtual keyboard is displayed, then you can still use the d-pad to select menu items)
  • Other bug fix and code cleaning
Like all homebrew, be sure to go over the extensive documentation included with the compressed file. That said, download the application and enjoy!
