PSP2600 v1.0.1 Atari 2600 emulator |
Ó
This one's slightly different from Zx-81's usual Atari staple, the 7800 emulator. PSP2600 emulates the Atari 2600, and is based on the work on a PSP port (the first one, in fact) of the Stella Atari 2600 emulator for a lot of PC OS (that's a second-degree relation, for those who're counting).
PSP2600 is available in 1.5 and 2.x (using eloader) flavors to choose from, and if you take the time to READ the README, you will find all the necessary instructions to get the emulator and its games up and running in your PSP.
Zx mentions no known bugs, but then again, this is an initial release. If you find any quirks to report, or perhaps you have comments and concerns, the reserved for all-Zx, all the time forum discussions in QJ is available after the download link.

Better than stella!
many thanks
Mmmmm... After playing for a while I find Stella V0.2 more accurate in graphics and sound... Maybe it's only a problem of configuration. I'll check it.
have to agree with kavayo, galaxian dosnt run right, cant see the bullets in star wars death star battle and miss pacman went into the wall!!!

This just made my day.
By default i set the speed to 40 fps .. Set the value to 60 fps and you will see less flickering / dark issues.
Zx
Is there gonna be Paddle support for this emu? ... And ZX-81 ... thanx for the release ... You do awsome work!
the flickering issue is not gone even with 60 fps it looks the very same, the bullet issue is still there too.
No way of getting out those flickering screens. Anyway, thanks a lot, zx-81 for your effort and for bring me back again to my tender childhood!
Your work is greatly appreciated - would love to see someone of your talent take-on porting MAME or fixing the sound problems in the Gameboy emu. Even if not, thanks for everything you do in keeping the old-school gamers happy.
Ran head-to-head with stella and PSP2600 seems better, menus and options make it superior - had no problem w/flickering or ms pac-man. Only thing I would like to see is support for the directional control over the analog. Good Work ZX!
