PSP MAME4ALL v4.9r2 Hires |
Ó
Homebrew developer TTYman has just released a new PSP compatible build of emulator MAME4ALL, bumping it up to version 4.9r2 Hires. This specific program allows PlayStation Portable owners to run and play games released on the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator.Anyway, a lot have changed since the last release so those who love playing old school arcades games on the go should update to this version. TTYman provided the following changelog:
- Usermode builds now works.
- Dipswitches settings added.
- Some Z80 core speedups.
- Vector based games like Asteroids now run at native resolution of 480x272 pixels.
- Preliminary memory management to clean-up things in certain romset (due to original MAME bugs) before starting a new emulation.
- In case of memory fragmentation errors emulator now quits without lockups.
- Better sound support in certain games, like Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles etc.
- Graphics themes disabled in 1.50 kernel mode to gain more memory available, used a simple blue gradient instead.
- Graphics mode saved with settings.

Awesome. It's great that MAME is actively being worked on again. It was pretty much dead on the PSP for a long while.
A lot of us very much appreciate your work on this, TTYman.
You are cool as a fan, TTYman.
Is that a superhero moniker? I wish I knew the true secret identity...-sigh-
+10 if it was a really hot chick, lol!
Hey, most chicks dig Frogger!
Mame is SOOOOO worth playing on the PSP now thanks to you SIR!!!
Please keep up the good work!
Long Live TTYman!
Long Live MAME!
When I tried an earlier version of this emulator (probably like one iteration back), I couldn't get my 0.115 ROMs to work. I know they have to be converted 'n all, but it isn't exactly intuitive.

Great work, definitely added on my slim.
Is there anyway to remap the 'return to menu' f(x)? When I hold down the L+R sometimes the screen switches...I'm not very coordinated. Sorry.
Thanks, Again great work. Keep it coming.
