revolution

this must be the most controversial homebrew ever
by symbal - 2009-09-14 20:57:10
Right

You might just be right mate.. this could end up taking sales off the NDS and selling more Psp's, if i was Sony i'd sneakily help Yoshihiro improve this but that's just my wishfull thinking.

PLUS!!!++++

He finally put in a Cursor!!!!! YAY!!!! If you've (and other) checked the comment section on the other releases, you should have noticed that i was requesting a cursor, becuase in his earlier releases he stated that: "I didnt put in a cursor because i didnt feel like it" But now it is!!! woo hoo now i can play some games slightly more properly!!!!

So this has probably been asked... but

What is the max framerate we can expect from this homebrew? When all is said and done?
by sososcary - 2009-09-14 21:30:15
cfw

but to run this you need a cfw'd psp
by ThirstyCow - 2009-09-14 21:42:41
GAMES?

What games are so far playable? Also, i agree with symbal, they should improve the PSP GO with more CPU speed and leak a loophole in the firmware, so we can exploit NDS games lol

Re

Last game I tried was 5 FPS. But I haven't tried it lately.
by jer1919 - 2009-09-15 00:55:17
WOW!

this might actually make me use my psp 8 hrs a day again! :D
by Techni - 2009-09-15 01:47:37
...

Go isn't any faster bud
by ThirstyCow - 2009-09-15 02:40:26
Go

I was just saying that they shud, i know its the same as the others
by mysterysword - 2009-09-15 02:43:02
.

Go still has the same CPU speed, it just runs at 333MHz by default, which on a CFW PSP, it's possible to have the CPU go 333MHz, but default is 133MHz

Re: So this has probably been asked... but

I have made a compatibility list on pspiso. The fastest is: 40FPS Video 22FPS In-Game
by cenobyte - 2009-09-15 04:47:26
someone tell me

where's the fun in playing games on a framerate similar to watching a slideshow? Plus the touchscreen feature will never be as responsive as the original DS. I'd say this a cool attempt but totally redundant.
by Metal Jody - 2009-09-15 05:35:03
Starfox Command

Even if/when that game will be full speed and bugless, controls would be a real pain in the rectum. Just wanted ta point that out for no reason. :]
by sak3r - 2009-09-15 05:45:12
you don't have to play them all

just for example i bought my ds to play castlevania and nanostray, both don't need the stylus,, actually the ds as a very decent shmup library that id like to play with the better psp d-pad
by ThirstyCow - 2009-09-15 08:04:37
Yeah i know

I know the PSP GO's max clock speed is 333Mhz. BUT sony >>>shud
by ThirstyCow - 2009-09-15 08:05:40
which games?

Which games are so far .....playable....?
by iamshadow - 2009-09-15 09:11:30
i hope

for full speed (60FPS) soon...i know its possible, just not sure when it will happen
by iamshadow - 2009-09-15 09:15:37
what i have tried

Yoshis Island very good 21 fps while playing and well over 30 while watching the intro... New Super Mario Bros fails to load... Big Brain Academy EU ver loads, not US ver... Brain Age 2 gets to language selection screen, then crashed after selecting one... There was one other i tried and actually ran pretty good but i forget what it was...
by iamshadow - 2009-09-15 09:19:37
No frameskip auto 2 please!

Put the option to select frameskip number back in! i dont like it constantly being at 2, i prefer having it at 1 or completely off...
by batanen - 2009-09-15 09:50:09
Updating regularly is good, but still a long way...

I don't think this homebrew could affect on the sales of Nintendo DS at all like suggested. It's very unlike the emulator will ever support well enough 3D-games (Final Fantasy XII: Remnant Wings for example) or even any 2D-game fully, not even text-adventures (Ace Attorney -series as for an example). Surely, it would be ground breaking being able to play NDS-games on the PSP, but as the video shows, it's an infinite way to there. Though, I really would see the potential if 2D-games were playable with sound.
by batanen - 2009-09-15 11:23:00
@Yamagushi

That was a good compatibility list, though had to register to the site for seeing it. In the future might need new catogories like playable and fully playable.
by Kotonoha - 2009-09-15 13:46:28
-

Pokemon, or any other RPG for that matter. Not all DS games involve fast button presses.
by RSX46 - 2009-09-15 17:42:52
