PSP homebrew - DaedalusX64 Alpha Revision 430 |
Ó
The DaedalusX64 team is back to release a new update for the Nintendo 64 emulator for the PSP. Notable features of the latest alpha build of DaedalusX64 includes -- removed CFW 3.71 support, reduced Slim RAM cache for texels, reduced intrafont memory usage and some more code cleanups.
Alpha revision 430 changelog:
- [-] Debug console should not be initialized in Release mode - Salvy
- [-] Reverted Change to GBI2_ModifyVtx from Rev 416 (Fixes a couple titles that broke) - Salvy
- [-] Removed CFW 3.71 support (We require higher firmware anyway, fixes a few warnings)
- [~] Properly defined the FlatShadeDisabled hack and Added to options on Debug Build
- [!] Reduced Slim RAM cache for texels to same size as Phat (Large Cache is no longer needed and doesn't improve performance and can be used elsewhere)
- [!] Reduce Texel Cache size after large Texel ( >64K ) is used. Fixes crash on Phat (Tetrisphere goes in game on Phat and SSV doesn't crash when using select.)
- [-] Reduced intrafont memory usage (Used low mem font options)
- [~] Changed default deadzone to 28 to work better with "Well loved" PSPs
- [~] Cleaned-up more compiler warnings
Please keep in mind these releases aren't marked as stable builds, but are works-in- progress using the latest SVN sources. They may/may not be stable or buggy.

Good work guys.
AWESOME ANOTHER UPDATE =) I HOPE IT HAS BETTER SOUND I REALLY DONT CARE ABOUT THE SPEED THAT MUCH
GOOD LUCK ON THE NEXT UPDATE THIS IS THE BEST EMULATOR FOR PSP =)
Whats the point of better sound if it runs at 5fps?
you get what im saying
the speed currently is at an average its not too slow but its not at full speed
what im saying is instead of majoring in making it full speed they just focus on that a little bit and the rest on sound
it gets kind of boring playing without sound =(
it gets boring playing with choppy sound at 5fps
Unless a game runs full speed, the sound will be choppy.
It doesnt look like this will improve the speed.
bugg fixes and other small changes which I probably wont even notice while I play.
Its pretty good of them to not mark this as a stable release caus most people want to see better speed and sound and do not care about the inner workings as long as they can play their favorite games in full speed like Pokemon snap and zelda mojoras mask hahaha
This thing is getting better and better!
This is just a minor bug fix update and prep for other changes to come. I will be concentrating purely on speed/stability(reduc ing crashes in games) for my part on the next few releases. Salvy and Grazz are working on compatibility. Other devs are helping, but more as consultants answering questions and helping debug new code. I'm also working on regressions I've noticed that have popped up. The next few updates I post should *****inually get faster and more stable.
Thats great news indeed! I almost started to believe that this software reached its limits on the psp! I wish you could try to tell the fortune of DaedalusX64. Do you think it will de able to run some games att full speed and sound? Like Mario 64? It doesnt seem that far away.
But Im not a developer I maybe wrong.
I LOVE YOU!!!!!! i dont care if it aint that good all i want to play is mario64 and so far i can with sound and it runs really fast. but ima buy a nintendo 64 soon from a local gamestore so i dont need this then. but KEEP up the GOOD WORK!!!!
and other games like charlie blasts territory
First of all... How do you define fullspeed. I think fullspeed means that the game runs smooth without shoppy sound at the same framerate (Without Frameskip) as it runs on the n64. I dont think it does that right now.
And also oneofthebest... I dont know where you come from but here in sweden the gamestores doesnt sell any N64s anymore.
Everybody (except for you) defines full speed the same way. Full speed + full speed.
If you want full speed and clear sound, then do one of these things:
1) Buy a Nintendo 64 on Ebay
2) Buy a modified Xbox and install ProjectX64
3) Install Project 64 on your computer
4) Buy a Nintendo DS and play the remakes
5) Buy a iQue (if you can find it)
6) Buy a Wii and use Virtual Console
and my favorite...
7) Make your own f**king psp emulator with full speed and clear sound and stay the h*ll out of here!
everyone talking ***** simply must not be trying this first hand. There have been MAJOR speed improvements to a playable level. Good job to everyone working on this project and dont believe the hype!
some of these people have only been around the homebrew scene for maybe a couple of years. They should all go and play daedalus R1, then maybe they will have the respect for where it is now.
Dont get me wrong. Im pretty much a fan of this emulator and im amazed about how great it is.
I have been active in the homebrew scene since FW1.5
so i know how much this emulator has improved.
And yeah.. I cant get this latest release to run mario 64 with sound at full speed. It runs very good in some parts of the game am more laggy in others.
runs pretty smooth if you disable the sound..
but the you dont get to hear
"Hooo!, Ho hooo!!, yiiehooo!!" ;(
i have respect for daedalus in fact i think their the best emulator group out their
i was just saying it would be awesom if they could get the sound to work on the most famous titles like zelda orcarina of time and majoras mask
paper mario etc but other than that they have improved DRAMATICLY i think their AWESOME keep it up guys hope ya can pull it off ya are very close
They obviously must sell retro consoles, in his local gamestore, 2nd hand of course.
