Sougen has released another great update of his PSP Genesis emulator. Changelog:

- Automatic support for loading old save states (untested since I don't have any old save states around)
- Option to change the sound quality. (44100 is not recommended because it needs a lot of processing power to emulate the ym2612 chip at that frequency), but it's there if you really want it.

Just some info on the 6-button setting. You should only turn it on for games that support it. A lot of games don't handle the 6-button controller properly (which is why there is a 'Mode' button on a real controller that you hold down when you power up the megadrive). I'll have a look at seeing if this can be autodetected.

Just so people won't be guessing/asking later on, I am currently really busy, so there won't be much releases for a while.

You can get it in our PSP Download section [here].

This has to be one of the best emulators available for the psp system, it seems to run at better speeds than the snes emulators I tried so far (not to say the programmers who are working on the snes emulators are doing a bad job, I think they deserve credit for their own successes). However, I have noticed that some of the colors in the game entitled adventures of batman and robin are off and the main character's animations in this game are jerky (which might be due to the auto frame skip, although I can not set the frame skip to 0 to test that theory out), which is a slight inconvienance because this is a very well done game. Anyway, enough of my complaining, besides that the emulator seems to be very well done and work better than I expected.

1. the problem with the D-Pad is the 6 button, turn off the 6button mode then RESTART your ROM

2. For the Desert Strike freeze, here's wot to do, when you start up the ROM, just keep pressing START really fast... this will make the program zip to the game faster, and you will bypass that briefing screen faster than the freeze comes in (this ROM was horrible on DGEN)

3. ummm anyone else finding it hard to do dragon punches and Ha do kens in the street fighter roms? Damn segmented D-pad!!! Ha!

Doesn't seem worth the upgrade to me, the last release was damn near perfect.

I was curious... this emu so far seems to work fine with Phantasy Star 2 sram saves, but for some reason, it won't recognize sram saves for Phantasy Star 4....

Can you look into this? The only reason I want a genesis Emu right now is to play PS4 and I don't like using state saving because usually upgrades of the emu means you can't use old state saves.. it's much easier when the sram saves work. Just a suggestion...

Emu looks great compared to when I first got it though! =-)

I was also hoping that Todd's Adeventures In Slime World would work, but I love how this emulator has developed in the last relase or two. Keep up the outstanding work.

Now we need a Lynx emulator.

The above poster has a point; you guys usually like to whine about what doesn't work instead of saying a somple, 'thanks'.

thanks a lot for this emu, but does anyone else have this issue, when ever I run a rom at 333mhz it plays for a little than goes to a blue screen (i have 1.5)

Simply put, this is possible the best emulator available. The speed and general compatibility are freaking awesome. Huge thanks to the author. I sincerely appreciate all you have done.

Er...I need some advice on using this emulator.

I tried out a few games with this emulator and have found that the problem I had with jerky movement extends to other games besides the one I mentioned before, and realized that the analog stick and d-pad activity is being registered as rapidly pressing a button instead of holding it down.

Is there something that needs to be changed in the settings in order to correct this problem or will I need to try a different version of this emulator?
