Its amazing how any of this is paypals buisness. You would think they would just take their cut.

There are plenty of alternatives to Paypal, that are comparable in fees.



Paypal is horrible. They facilitate online fraud by consumers, and screw over the vendors.

I dont beleive sony is the one behind this. Paypal is its own organisation and makes their own rules. Its big enough to have its own agenda and "use policy". Besides sony would rather target the piracy of their own software rather then that of others...



Oh well of to play more GBA games on the PSP again...:)

I have been using paypal since its inception. what used to be innovative has now become a key channel for fraud. always use your credit card to fund paypal payments. I have had to get my citicard involved in more than just a few paypal transactions where paypal themselves say....oh you got screwed...well we cant help you...but then whenever I sell an 10$ item they are more than happy to take there $3 cut. its insane. There are other alternatives...paypal is not longer providing a service. you cand function on ebay without it...however for accepting dontations there are many other options as mentioned above. Go scummvm!

That's soo bad. I mean, it's true that too many people are not paying for their games. I pay for my games and ScummVM was for me a way to play my favorite games on different hardware (like the PSP!), and they deserve credit (or else they may stop working on it :|). I wonder if making ScummVM is really illegal, I thought it was not :|. I say, stop being stupid and childish by pirating games, and things like that won't happen in the future.

I've used PayPal a lot. And it's not like they openly offer the original software without the consent of the designer for games like "Beneath a Steal Sky" or "Amazon Queen". I guess the only thing that I can think of is an image interest. Maybe they don't want to someday to be looked at as supporting emulators. And that , in itself, is just paranoia . It's getting to the point anymore that the manufacturer is getting the consumer rights while the actual consumer is taking whatever's leftover.....restrictions. I think they fail to see that if they didn't have anybody to give restrictions to, they'd all be penny-less and broke as we are.

This is one of the best things about this country, with one move ( whether it be boycotting a certain item nationwide like gas or food) we can make a difference, a change. People sometimes don't realize this, but think about it. If the whole US of good ole A one day decided " Hey, I don't think I like all these little petty restrictions you put on us, so we're just as one nation going to stop buying your stuff for a whole week" . Can you IMAGINE what would happen then? But, then again that's just hypothetical thinking.

For those who haven't watched it, I suggest watching V for Vendetta. That movie has one powerful message that I think everybody should take to heart.



But anyway, sad that these people won't be getting donations by pretty much everybody who has a savings account number:P, but hopefully they CAN receive some help, because they're making it possible to revive a classice genre of gaming that pretty much laid some foundation to gaming as we know it today. Good like to the ScummVM guys, keep up the good work

How about a way to overcome that legal particularity, like, removing the link from the actual scummvm site and putting a link that redirects you to a new web site which's purpose is to ask for donations from anybody that wants to give some money away for nothing, for example.

Anyone that has a problem with this can go SUCK AN EGG!!!!!



Paypal provides a service and they have the RIGHT to refuse service to ANYONE!!!!

I hear a bunch of Boo Hoo about this and it sickens me. These are typical American responses and when it comes down to it they are all actually ANTI American!!!! NO ONE in this country has the RIGHT to demand service from anyone. If you don't like it then start YOUR OWN PAYPAL SERVICE!

I never said anyone couldn't be upset with the rules. You can be upset all you want. But the facts ARE those ARE the rules.

Basicaly, you can not discriminate in providing your services based upon protecting from competition.

I've exactly this kind of experience, a client committed fraud and PayPal sided with him. That's why I from now on always add to my client contracts a clause about involving PayPal's claims department voids the contract and I get to keep all they paid me and I owe them nada.



PayPal sucks, but you have to use them, there's nothing else at the moment and I've looked at all the alternatives.
