NeoGeo

The NeoGeo CDZ Emulator for PSP has been updated! Included in this latest version (0.4) are a bunch of new features, plus there's a few upcoming features which have been hinted at earlier. I'm sure they'll be attended to in one of the next releases.

Changelog for v0.4:
  • Font data size reduced
  • Japanese language font created
  • Font for the command list created
  • Fixed the anti-alias processing for fonts
Multiplayer currently doesn't work since the author doesn't have a second PSP to test it. Command list and simple text display function will be included in one of the upcoming releases. For now, have fun with the latest NeoGeo Emulator.

A 1.5 version is included, along with the non-KXploited version for 2.0 and above PSPs. The command.dat has been bundled separately.

» and the point is..........?

other than the obvious japanese font for our jap friends, whats new really?? is it faster or more compatible because i love the current v0.3, never had problems with the fonts.

it would be nice to make the mp3 playing more stable, i thought the occasional mp3 syncronisation fault was just when you put your own mp3's in the game files but it randomly does it on games with the original mp3's too

» Nice one!

This is the first time I have tried this emulator and I am so impressed. The difference between this and the other emu's such as the SNES is staggering.

Playing King of Fighters 99 the speed is almost too fast for me!

Not sure what that command.dat file is but I just put it the same folder as the eboot and it works for me.

I noticed that it defaults its CPU speed at 222, so first thing to do is put it up to 333 in the emulator settings - gives a massive gain in FPS

Tested on FW 2.6 with eLoader 0.97

Thanks yoyofr

» yea this emu is great

Yes this emu plays the games i have at full speed and with this update it might be faster than neo cd which was barely faster than this emu.

» NEO GEO CDZ vs NeoCD PSP

you know, each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

This one is smoother, and has etter rendering I think.

the other one might still be a little faster, but not as smooth, or clean looking. AND you can put your MP3s in the MUSIC folder (my idea by the way)

I DO like this emu better tho.

I just got what I thought was the authors name from the incuded readme file:

"Have fun!

------------------>

http://yoyofr.fr.st

----->

yoyofr"

I guess he ripped the readme file eh?

I should have known really as its way more accomplished than yoyo's SNES emu

Who is it made by then?

» FW 2.6 Instructions

@#30

- Create a folder on your PSP memory stick in GAME, I called it NEOGEOCD

- Unzip ncdzpsp_0.4_beta.zip onto your pc and copy the files from the 1.0 folder into PSP/GAME/NEOGEOCD/ on your PSP

- Download command.dat and put it in the same folder on your PSP

- Download the Neogeo CD bios (check the link in post #26), unzip it and copy NEOCD.bin (512kb file) into the same folder on your PSP

Thats it installed and should work fine through eloader.

For the games you need to place them in seperate folders on your PSP e.g. PSP/GAME/NEOGEOCD/yourbackedupgam e/

Unzip/unrar your games and you should have such files as yourbackedupgam e - Track 01.iso and yourbackedupgam e - Track 02.mp3 to yourbackedupgam e - Track 43.mp3 etc

You need to extract the files from yourbackedupgam e - Track 01.iso using Isobuster or Winrar to

e.g PSP/GAME/NEOGEOCD/yourbackedupgam e/game.fix, game.prg etc

You then need to create a folder called neocd.mp3 e.g

PSP/GAME/NEOGEOCD/yourbackedupgam e/neocd.mp3/

Here you place the mp3's e.g yourbackedupgam e - Track 02.mp3 to yourbackedupgam e - Track 43.mp3 etc

Sounds like a bit of hassle but its worth it.

@#31

The download link is working for me, dunno wassup for you, I am on Firefox with Javascript turned on

Games I have tested:

King of Fighters 99 - Working 100%

Neo Drift Out - Working 100%

Super Sidekicks - Working 100%

Super Sidekicks 2 - Working but GFX problems (no markings on pitch) - not really playable IMO

Super Sidekicks 3 - Working but GFX problems (no pitch!) - not really playable IMO
