NeoGeo CDZ Emulator for the PSPFast would be an understatement to describe how the guys responsible for developments on the NeoGeo are, at dishing out updates. I was checking out the website one minute and already in the process of writing an article on the Beta 1 when all of a sudden, there it was, Beta 2 updates. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining (and I am pretty sure, so are you). I am in awe at their dedication to the project. Kudos to the team!

Changelog:

Beta 1
  • NeoGeo emulation modified according to the same changes made on ngepsp
  • With the change above, the internal structure has been largely modified, thus making the state data unusable (cannot select Load).
  • Raster effect supported. I added this to ngepsp just to test it out. If you enable it, the emulation speed will suffer a big drop due to the heavy calculation of this effect.
  • Problems introduced from the Windows version have been fixed:

1. ssideki2 - the ground disappears when raster effect is enabled.
2. Karnovr - the background of Jean stage/round 1 is not showing.

  • Some games run faster (the opening of Galford in Shin Samurai Spirit and etc.
Beta 2
  • Timer processing fixed.
  • Watchdog processing fixed.
  • State save version update. The compatibility with older versions is now void.
Thanks a bunch to Jeff Chen for the translation.

NJ - please put an option in this to play random mp3's from the psp music folder,

(for example like boxy does)

this would mean we could delete all the neocd.mp3 folders and have a few albums in our psp/music folder at about 112kbs - it save lots of valuable memory stick space,

Please try this out as an option, as i have a 1 gig memory stick, but still cant get that many neocd games on it!!

otherwise great work guys!

Another (longer way) workaround would be to use dummy mp3 files in place of the original game mp3s, or, reencode the original game mp3s with lower bit rate, and replace the originals with the reencoded ones with the same name.

how would you know if I was a frickin' n00b?

they should just write about other homebrew and emulators, instead of posting about the neogeo emu nearly every day

# what FPS are you guys getting on this emulator?InTheZone 2006-07-08 03:22
I don't want to keep downloading every update just to get less than 30fps.

Is this anywhere near 40+ FPS yet?

to no 3 john c

yeah i know what your saying, but i dont want no music

and i have even put some of my own on various games @112kbs....

its just some of the games have 40 or so mp3's and with the fact i have other homebrew on my card im only getting about 5 neocd games on it max....

so thats why i'd rather the neocd played random tracks from the music folder.... 30 or 40 tracks @ 112kbs in one place compared to 30 or so for every game,

theres the neogeo alternative but it aint as polished as this one yet, and still has the rom compatibility issues..?!?

to no 7 - in the zone -

i haven't actually tried this version but v0.4.5 was pretty much full speed, so i imagine this one is too..

just remember this is the cd version requiring the cd images to run

40fps ?

every game i try runs at 50fps most of the time absolutly perfect, i don't need this update , this runs PERFECT.

don't confuse NEOGEOCDZ with NGEPSP

the cd emulator runs perfect.
