More ScummVM games added: Elvira, Elvira 2, Waxworks |
Ó
Whoever said DOS was dead obviously isn't a firm believer in the power of emulation. Old school gamers will definitely find the ScummVM program a gem for reliving the good ol' days of point-and-click adventure gaming. The team from ScummVM has released three new games from the classic horror RPG developer Horror Soft. Gamers can once again fight the evil with Elvira - Mistress of the Dark, Elvira II - The Jaws of Cerberus, and Waxworks (Amiga version).
These three games are throwbacks of the survival horror game genre and are one of the first games to use the AGOS Engine from Adventure Soft. While the costumes and gigantic hairstyles may seem a bit cheesy, nobody can deny that these games capture the essence of what the newer games of the genre now have.
If you're interested in checking out these old-school thrillers, make sure you have the latest stable build of ScummVM v0.10.0, as well as its required libraries installed on your preferred platform.
Don't forget to check out the instructions on how to install ScummVM properly onto your system through their website that we've provided through the via link below.

The current public release (v0.10.0) does not have support for these games as clearly indicated in the scummvm article; you would need to build from the daily source. FYI - The next public release is slated for mid-January.
the daily source are not yet tested. you can try them with these new games but take note that even the devs haven't tried these themselves..
Discworld is supported, I don't care.
You should be able to play Discworld using PopStation as DW was released for PS1. I say should because I haven't tried my disc yet nor have I checked the compatibility sitesfor that particular game. Be Well, DrNicket
