Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time possible to run at over 25 fps on Daedelus? |
Ó
Moers, to play games at a decent speed, I want to surprise everyone, therefore i will NOT give more details bust restassured I WILL be enjoying Legend of Zelda at a FASTER framerate over 25 fps, sounds like a dream eh? But I bet everyone will be like "omg thank you shinydude" and "omg thank you kreationz" once i discuss how i plan to further develop Daedalus, but these are deep ideas i have, not actually working on that, more focused at the moment that Kreationz and the other devs to download my part so they can implement it to their C++ projects along with their work and simply let them compile it. =D
DaedalusX64 member linkinkid posted this vid of the debugged rom on this forum, showing that Ocarina of Time is already running at full or nearly full speed at the emulator. The interesting bits start at 1:51.
From the looks of it, it seems that it just might be possible. Shinydude100 isn't giving any further details just yet, but he's quite confident that he can get the job done. For the rest of us who loved Ocarina of Time, this would be a dream come true.
Thanks to anhero for the tip!

I remember hearing about this and I actually tested it out my self on the debug rom. Don't ask me where to get it.

Not get hopes up before the news has evidence pointing to it having actually occurred should be some kind of rule. It should be no surprise that it will not occur without a catch or really if it never actually occurs at all. Sheer initial determination doesn't mean anything without skill and endurance, I don't put much faith in it.

Glenn @ QJ, you've stooped to a new low..

OOT-debug-Rom running AT 12-14 FPS on R12 and 3.03-OE.
I say, I am the first to play OOT when it happens to run at a decent framerate but I really dont believe it will be possible. At least not that easyly.
Considering that strmnnrmn has done a great job so far I dont believe a further FPS increase can be achieved that easily. At least until someone really tells us his ideas for further improving that emu. Just to say, "wait and see and i wont talk about it, we just need to compile it" doesnt suffice.
Thats big words and no facts at all. a big hype everyone gets exited about. lets hope noone will get disappointed.

Plus aren't you kinda limited by the number of buttons on the PSP? If you were to use the triangle/square etc buttons as the C buttons... then where are A and B?
TBH I'd just rather play it on the Wii with the Zelda Collectors Edition thing with an N64 controller for authenticity.
I have no hope at all of a decent N64 emulator for the PSP.

Whether its StrmnNrmn, PsPDonkey PSP Monkey, those Kids from StrmnNrmns fanboy asslicking site or shinydude..
EVERY YEAR someone makes a complete ass of themselves by lying through their teeth and inevitably disappears because people just keep ripping him a new one with every lie they tell..
So ShinyDude, I suggest you either MAKE IMPROVMENTS and release them without talking about it, or you just finish the *****er and surprise everyone with it..
but what you're doing now is the same old ***** we've seen every year from kids who wanna play dev.

as ive stated in previous articles about this,
shiny's inability to compile his own code puts the final nail in the coffin. how do you expect to improve on code when you cant even compile and debug it.

" I CAN DO IT TOO " !!! lol OMG!
Actually any one can, so what's the show?!
You can too transfer your save state data from Project 64 to Daedalus 13 or 14 unofficial. Just rename the save State data from .svs to .ss, Then load it on Daedalus and it will resize smaller size and it helps you to skip parts that game hangs on Daedalus; like the part that you beat the bastard spider from Great Deku tree... After that game hangs up, if you copy and convert a later save state data from PJ 64 to Daedalus and it will run fine, you can even change Link's Clothes to black and will stay as is when you pass it to daedalus.
Also Paper Mario runs like that and Then it stops! Xp
Thanks!
Joey

The Dev scene is being ripped to the ground lately with all these puffed up wanna-be script kiddies looking for fame in the community without real substance.
They either talk the talk without producing the goods or they produce half arsed CRAP they want to call homebrew and expect everyone to bow down to them.
Screw that.
I'm very much in the 'I'll believe it when I see it' camp concerning any homebrew claim.
The PSP brew scene has far too long a history of wanna be hacks to take ANY claim seriously until the code is released to the public.

I would suggest that QJ not post news about emulators like this unless there are executables/sources attached. It just puts pressure on the author and gives everyone a reason to get pissed again.

You shouldn't take it as anyone being against you personally.
Anyway, good luck.

I think noone is trying to be negative. We are all sceptical - but hopeful. I think we all agree that a nearly fully operatins n64 emu on the PSP would be awesome to the max. Noone doubts that. But we all heard the talk before, we all saw wannabe-devs come and go. Regarding strmnnrmn, he gave very detailed info on his ideas for further tweaking deadalus, which sounded well enough for the community to think of him as a capable dev. Dont get it wrong when ppl are sceptical 'bout newcomers with extraordinary claims. the ve seen it before. talking bout just switching a gfx plugin, compiling it, and how pll would go "OMG thank you shinydude" doesnt help either. ppl got used to the fact, that the more talk there is the less result will be. Dont let get that to your mind. we all here wish u succes with your plans. but u cant blame pll for being sceptical. prove them wrong and we REALLY go "OMFG thanks shinydude" - but not before. so for the better for all of us: Not only talk the talk - DO walk the walk!
