The second video from TheGrandDragon is also on FFVII, this time, on PSP PSX emulation. Now, for those of you kinda lost out there as to how to get it done, you might want to pay more attention to this vid, as it does show what to do to get it running. Although, it doesn't really provide a detailed step by step installation or whatnot. But just the same, you might find it useful.
I must admit, it was pretty nostalgic seeing this PS1 classic on the PSP. Anyhow, check out the videos yourself. And then after watching, why be content with just viewing it, when you can play it on your own PSPs? Enjoy!

It asks if you want to save at the end of each disc. You can save, then exit the game, load up disc 2 and load the save.
There are some games out there, like Chrono Cross, that don't let you save between discs... they will be a problem.

how did he get the final fantasy background to show up when he highlighted the ff7 icon under the games menu? as far as i know, the only background you can use for your games is the Hot shots 2 background.
Just include your own icon0.png, pic0.png and pic1.png in the popstation folder.

am i using the wrong version of popstation? because the folder of popstation i downloaded doeant have the icon files to replace. you're saying it will automatically work if i just place those files there anyway? like, if i put them into the folder in my psp along with the eboot file and whatnot?

Does it work with Devhook? I have 1.5 PSP and don't want to upgrade.

Hey man, I was getting the same issue then I used Alcohol to rip my isos. that helped me. Make sure your game folder is in the GAME folder not the GAME150 and make sure the name of the folder is something short. Any other questions just shoot me an Email to Maestronoir@gma il.com
Just upgrade 1.50 is the past. 3.02 OE-B is the present and so on for the future.

you get the key a the base is actuly the documents data you just rename it and they all come with the hot spot2 at isohunt.com you need to type in hot spot 2 and get utorrent ,

Sorry, I've been gone some time and have no Idea what the OE-B means in FW 3.02 OE-B. I own a psp and an array of psp games with the firmware of 3.00 official. So if I upgrade to 3.02....I can play these games somehow if I rip the iso and place them on my stick? whaa?

No the 3.02 upgrade is a custom built firmware, the only way to update to the custom 3.02 is having a 1.5 psp, you cant downgrade from 3.0 so you cant play homemade PS1 ISOs.

No, Final Fantasy 7 does NOT work perfectly, as you can tell from the opening vid there is an annoying chirp during any FMV (videos) and the higher pitched sounds dont play properly... which is normal of every emulator, most create a special mode for the final fantasy games. The most annoying part is clouds slash in battle sounds like a wussy clinking noise and there is a graphics bug when selecting the badguys. But still fully playable as I am doing it right now! :)
I get the same message every time I try a new game for the first time. Just try running it again and see if it works.
maybe try an x86 emulator if your system can handle it? and run in that environment.

yes you can downgrade by holding the R-button on boot. you have to install recovery folder first
Has anyone tried merging all of the disc images into one big ISO? There's a fair amount of redundant data there. I'm not sure if it would work or not. I sooo wish they'd release this game on a UMD. If nothing else, it'd be a good refresher for those that want to buy Crisis Core when it comes out.

I had 1.5 up until yesterday. This is definitely worth the upgrade, no doubt about it. If you really need to, you can go BACK to 1.5, but really, 1.5 is dead with 3.02 OE-B out, dude.
IR SHELL works and yes, you can go back to 1.5 later on if you want to
ISOBuster. It's free and works perfectly. Use the bin file it makes
I had to borrow Nikes slogan for a sec cause all those on 1.5 just have to upgrade. I mean its extremely easy and the pros are many. JUST LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE README follow the directions step by step and you wont need help from others. And by the way Tomba works perfectly on 3.02 oe-b.
I can also confirm FFVII and Xenogears now I only need Parasite eve.
when i boot my homemade ffvii, it goes to the precaution screen, freezes, and shuts off my psp. ive tried numerous ripping programs to get the iso to convert but none work. im not using the european version either, im using the greatest hits ntsc version.
this is extremely frustrating.. help please?

try copying the game over in a .bin file it may perform better after using popstation. oddly enought that is what i did after i couldn't get the .iso to work, and now (as you can see) it work beautifully.

To save in Crash bandicoot, you have to collect 3 of the weirdy pillow shaped things (on the second level there's some as an example) which take you to a bonus level. On completion of the bonus level, you are given the chance to save :)

then you forgot to put in the keys.bin to the psp/game/xxx/ folder. Trust me I spent like 30mins wondering why one minute it worked then switching out eboots it didnt.

I have a weird problem, I started the game from the beginning played for about an hour and a half, got to the part after the problems in the train where you enter some underground vents cos theres a security beam in the way. then when youre all the way down and you teammmates head back and you need to plant the bomb I go up the ladder then my screen goes black and I cant do anything anymore. The music still playes, I can still use the Home menu, but the game doesnt respond in any way. DOes anyone have this problem? If someone is past this point, Id REALLY appreciate it if u send me a save game to pindasaus@gmail .com.

You can save, just not save states
If there was a way of converting the game save to a pc save, then you could just get past the swap with an emulator like epsxe and put it back onto your psp. But most games let you save first I think
Awesome getting FF7 to work on the emu. What really sux is that were putting another nail in the psps retail life coffin. Youd think sony was plannin on making a killing on selling psone games. Im totally into homebrew, isos etc but dont ya think this has gone too far?
Ok, f*** you all for not helping. Peeps here are the instruction to getting most games to work. The instruction in readme is mess up too confusing.
1.Get Hot Golf 2 from some torrent site
2.You should have the document file, key, and eboot file
3.Download one of those popstation gui cause I can't get the one the came with 0e-b working.
4. Move the key.bin to the same foler as the popstation.exe.
5.Rename the hot golf eboot to base.pbp.
6.Move it to the same folder as popstation.exe
7. Convert that *****
8.Copy folder name of hot golf.
8.Use the same folder in your game directory
It should be mso-psp-game-SCUS94476
9.In that folder you need the converted eboot of your game, NOT THE HOT GOLF. You also need the document.dat from hot golf and the key.bin
10. Start that ***** and and enjoy ;)

either u had a custom gameboot flashed previously or u din set yr game folder with the correct kernel. try flashing back to the original sony gameboot of set the right kernel. it shld work.

According to Crash Bandicoot, every two levels, you have to get 3 icons which look like Crash's Girlfriend and then when you get all three of those, it brings you to a bonus level where if you complete it you can save.

Fixed it, apparently bit torrent is having a big problem downloading the whole file of hotshots golf. First DL (same torrent) didnt work at all. Second DL worked but saving didnt, and third download worked w/ both saves and playing. Keep that in mind if you have a similar problem.
do you mean to put them in when the new eboot is being created(in the same folder where the popstation.exe and the original iso are before you make the new eboot) or do you mean just put the images in the folder with the eboot?....
Now if I have something saved from the game it gives me 800004 error..... and wont load the game... as soon as I delete the save off the card it loads to psx logo and plays... any ideas? ;x (all testing is on the hotshots game, ff7 didnt give the option to save at all.)

Open the EBoot.pbp file with a fast Hex Editor, like HxD (google it, it's free!), find (Ctrl+F) text string HotShots Golf and replace it with the game name... MAKE SURE THE CHARACTER NUMBER REMAINS THE SAME THOUGH, BECAUSE THE FILE MIGHT GET CORRUPTED! (so I advise you make a backup first). Now the savegame name will change!

I've made an eboot, it loads all the way to gameplay a F***ing freezes, so far Megaman Legends 2 will load, play FMVs, options, tutorial but when I go to start a new game, I think the fire freezes the game. Almost the same with Tomba!, it loads and says Whoopee, but this time when it gets to the First FMV, it freezes and all you can hear is music. I doubt its the .img and .bins cause I've tried different ones. Any Help???

I keep getting a black screen, then the PS sign appears with the wrod Playstation under it but then it just stops. itdoesn't say Sony Entertainment America under that like normal it just stops but it doesnt freeze, i can still press homw and use those options. i dont understand!!!
depends on the firmware that is installed on the psp...buy a used one...they tend to have old firmwares
may be a problem with the eboot that you created...or maybe with the original iso...

Because at the end of each disk it asks you to save. You can then load up disk 2 and start the save which will be start of disk 2.

hi, im trying to get ff7 to work on 3.02 oe-b but it wont, everytime i convert it and put it on my memstick i just get a corrupted icon in my game menu. I tested my copy of hot shots golf 2 and it works perfectly. ive tried everything and nothing works i always get a corrupted icon can someone please help me?

I believe there may be a problem with FF8; at the first SeeD mission near the start of the game you get to a Snake Boss and when is uses Dark Myst the game crashes.
I need to double check this some more, but it might be a case of the FF8 being unplayable.
Wow, I just tried this with both FFVII and FFIX and it works great... this truly is a great peice of work. I do have a little problem, though. My FFVII game crashes when trying to enter the screen with the first save point- I'm not sure if it's a problem with my original disc (it's scratched to hell). I wanted to use one of the save files from GameFAQs, but I don't think they're in the same format. Does anyone know of a way to convert, or if there are any save files early on in FFVII in this format that I could use to try to bypass this?

How to get the popstation to work, using a Mac? For real, I've asked this question numberous times everywhere and everyone keeps making a really unhelpful sarcastic comment like "BUY A PC!! I just ripped the iso from my PAL game disc and patched it, works perfectly :)
this is just what i've been told, but i pretty sure mac computers dont have the ability to run dos based programs, as dos was developed for pc computers. if you want, you can try looking around for a way to emulate a pc on your mac, i know its possible, but your best bet is to wait until this process is more developed, and multi computer conversion tools become available. someone will make one for mac, garaunteed, but just be patient until then, okay?? :)

what they didn't mention is tht you have to have your psp the way it was aka defaulted
no custom gameboots
no black background
no custom sounds
and it should works perfectly , all i did was reflash my psp then updated it to B and tryed the game it worked .
something to do with flashing a background or gameboot the messes with the psx emulator

not quite perfectly as seen in the video and also confirmed on my psp in the battle sequence there is a clitch on the screen when selecting an enemy to attack its the only fault in the game and doesnt really effect anything but its there.

I love my ff7 but, when you get to cosmo canyon and buhagan tries to show you his space star thing, it completely freezes. Well, not completely because Buhagen still floats up and down but the music stops and nothing happens. I'm sort of pissed. Is there a way to get data from another memory card on my computer to play on comp emulator then put data back on my psp and load it????? PLEASE HELP ME

I have a PAL version of Final Fantasy 8 for PSX and would like to create a working ISO (IMG or BIN) file out of it. I have tried it using UltraISO and Alcohol 120%, but none of the image files worked. Can anyone help me, please?

can't seem to get the disc changing working. when i load up the second disc, it shows no save file.
i think this is because the psp registers them as 2 separate games, therefore creates its own little save folder

yeah. here's the deal. i had a save file for my ff7 disc 1 eboot. had hot shots 2 images.
and i wnted to change it so i made a new eboot with new working images but.
the save file would not show for the first eboot.
so what do i do?
I've got FFT running right now, as a matter of fact. It's quite excellent.
Just loaded my save up in the new 3.03 OE-A, worthless. The game suddenly has so many graphics glitches and sound glitches. The blur animation that should be there when going into a battle no longer happens, Tifa's limit breaker flickers non stop making it impossible to read, the battle menu is constantly flickering. It's as if there is now a graphics layer that isn't working. As for audio, some attacks suddenly dont sound right, at least music still works. I'm still using the game file from 3.02 but I shouldn't have to recreate a game image for 3.03 just to add compression. I'm more disappointed than I am impressed with 3.03 OE A to say the least.

my game on ff7 freezes when i am cloud and i am dressed as a shinra soldier. This is when Rufus is having a parade for him it goes into a mini movie and then freeezes but the picture is still there (but frozen) and the sound isn't working wats going on??? help

I ripped the ISO directly from the CD as a bin file using magiciso...it should work...
ok i figured out how to get the games working... finally, but i do have a question, the Tomba! ISO i downloaded goes past the Playstation start up, goes past the next screen with "sony entertainment america presents" and then it goes to a black screen with a grey arrow pointing down, now i would try to rip the ISO from my actual copy but i have played the game so much that it doesnt work anymore ;_; so does this have to do with the ISO i downloaded? or did i patch it wrong or does anyone even have this game working yet?
