DosBox PSP version 07/26/08 - minor performance improvements |
Ó
Homebrew developer recently rolled out a new version of the DOS emulator for the PlayStation Portable, DosBox PSP. Those of you who want to relive the bygone days of classic PC gaming had best update yourselves with the latest build of this old-school emulator, now tagged as version 07/26/08.Similar to the previous release, the developer played around with the emulator's code once again to get the best out of the program's performance speed. CrazyC noted that the only change is a modest performance improvement in this release of DosBox PSP. Still, no matter how small the improvement, it's enough to give PSP users an easier time using the emulator.
We've compiled all the files needed to run the latest build of DosBox PSP into one bundled archive. If you're having any trouble running the emulator on your handheld, you can drop the developer a line by visiting the project's release thread through the Via link below.

Nice work. You think this could run Warcraft?
how would you fit the CD in the UMD Dirve? that, and psp only has 32MB of RAM and a 333MHz processor
I don't see a problem Dosbox running Warcraft: Orcs vs. Humans. Didn't test it tho.
spiderfan00: read up a bit on Dosbox' Readme and you will stumble upon the command "imgmount" which mounts cd images as drives.
_MK2K_: Thanks man, I'm gonna try and give it a shot tonight. I'm just worried about using the joystick as a mouse.
spiderfan00: You mean you can't put a CD in the UMD drive??!! Thanks a lot captain obvious. At any rate I'm not interested in running it off the CD or ISO image. There is a demo available at: http://www.blizzard.com/us/war1/
And as for the system requiements:
PC System Requirements
386/20 with 4MB RAM
MS-DOS 5.0 or Higher
VGA Video Card
Microsoft Compatible Mouse
CD-ROM Required for Movies
If anyone has tried it, please let me know how it works. Thanks.
@ _MK2K_: i definitely will look that up in the readme. thanks for the info
@ smartdude: i didnt know which warcraft you were talking about. the CD comment was supposed to be taken as sarcasm.
I'm sorry, but you're a moron.
How does the PSP run any type of format it's not supposed to run. Emulation maybe?

what other older games will run on the psp with this emulator? is there a place on the net with a list?
Pretty much any game that meats the PS3's requirements and s designed for
Windows 3.1,
Windows 95,
or Windows 98.
