Daedalus R11 is upon us |
Ó

It looks like everyone's favorite Nintendo 64 Emulator is finally up with a brand new version. Daedalus R11 is here, boasting numerous changes and fixes that should improve performance on everyone's handhelds.
For those who haven't heard of it, Daedalus R11 is a Nintendo 64 emulation application for PSPs. Using Daedalus, you can play your favorite N64 games on the PSP, such as Starfox 64.
In any case, here are the changes for this iteration of Daedalus:
- [*] Large overhaul of rom settings and preferences. All settings should now be persistant.
- [+] Native support for palettised textures for faster rendering and less memory usage.
- [+] Provided a fixed size pool for all texture memory, to limit memory usage.
- [+] Expansion Pak enabled by default.
- [!] Updated rom info database to include save mechanism for many roms.
- [!] Fix memory leak in texture cache.
- [!] Fixed conversion of RGBA/32bpp textures with odd alignments.
- [!] Fix crash which occurred when recolouring textures in low memory situations.
- [^] Large rewrite of texture cache to reduce memory usage and improve performance.
- [^] Various optimisations to the way textures are looked up in the cache and installed.
- [^] Optimise offsetting/scaling of texture coordinates.
- [^] Improve performance of dynarec fragment cache and reduce memory fragmentation.
As always, feel free to show off your enthusiasm for Strmnnrmn's homebrew application in the comments below, and don't hesitate to drop him a line at his blog if you wish to thank him personally for another job well-done.

meant super mario 64...
That's really strange.. M64 works way better than r10 on my psp.. Think it depends on which Rom you use, I use the Europe version.
FPS intro (+2 frameskip no sound ):
peak of 40
FPS outside castle: 36 (+2 frameskip no sound ):
FPS inside castle: (+2 frameskip no sound ):
33
FPS: first level bombland: (+2 frameskip no sound ): 22 fps
With sound 8 frames less I guess..
Mario kart 64 also works way better now..
I don't get your results

10 "meticulous" updates (were on release number 11 now) and I still cant even run mario 64 at playable speed without hurting my eyes. not even 0 frameskip runs smoothly. and you would think such a good coder wouldve at least implemented something more than a simple gui by now...
do want you want ppl but ill save my butt kissing for more useful purposes

This offends me greatly. My delicate sensibilities...
I declare you to be the HOmoinfidel sir. Ha!~
Deal with that.
The Rhodes blood libel was an instance of blood libel against Jews in which the Jews on the Ottoman Empire island of Rhodes were accused of the ritual murder of a Christian boy in February 1840.
The libel originated in the Greek Orthodox community and enjoyed active support from the consuls of several European countries, including the United Kingdom, France, the Austrian Empire, Sweden, and Greece. The Ottoman governor of Rhodes broke with the long tradition of the Ottoman governments (which had previously denied the factuality of the blood libel accusations) and supported the ritual murder charge. Several Jewish subjects were arrested, some of whom were tortured and made false confessions, and the entire Jewish quarter was blockaded for twelve days.
The Jewish community of Rhodes appealed for help from the Jewish community in Constantinople, who forwarded the appeal to European governments. In the United Kingdom and Austria, Jewish communities were able to win support from their governments, and dispatches sent to the ambassadors in Constantinople unequivocally condemned the blood libel; thus, a consensus developed that stated such a charge was false. In addition, the governor of Rhodes proved unable to control the local fanatical Christians and sent the case to the central government, which initiated a formal inquiry into the affair. In July 1840, that investigation established the innocence of the Jewish community. Finally, in November of the same year, the Ottoman sultan issued a decree (firman) denouncing the blood libel as false.
