Daedalus N64 Emulator Updated! |
Listed in: Homebrew Emulators, News, Emulators Tags: psp homebrew emulators
Ó

Well, the wheel was set rolling on 1st May with the first release of Daedalus. And the juggernaut has been going on and getting stronger with every release. Now we have the 4th release of the N64 Emulator, and it's better than ever.
Here's a changelog:
[!] Disable PSP FPU exceptions, enabling many more roms to run.
[!] Fixed ambient lighting bug.
[!] Fixed scissoring.
[~] Only create temp rom file if compressed (not swapped).
[~] Fixed decaling offset.
[~] Lots of combiner additions/fixes.
Although the changelog is quite small, StrmnNrmn believes that it will help compatibility. He also promised that he'll optimise the code so that it's faster. That'll be in the next update, though. The single archive contains the 1.0 and 1.5 versions, plus the source code.
Thanks for the heads-up Billy!

i can´t belive that you are so fast :). Thats very nice but did you know how many weeks, we have to wait until we can play at the normal speed ? :)
I hope you understand my bad english :)

You are wrong about the psp button thing.
Including start and select and the music symbol it has
13 not including nub.
But if you also include the music connector that goes in under the nub, then it will also increase (I think this was done in quake 2)

Dpad C buttons
Circle Shift
Shift+Dpad Dpad
L L
R Z
Triangle R
Square A
Cross B
Start Start
Then include an option in the emulator options that makes it so you can change the PSP Dpad to be the 64 Dpad, and shift + Dpad = C buttons. That way if there's a game like... tetrisphere, for example... You wonb't have to keep the shift button pressed down the entire time.

ULSTER ENDORSES THIS LOYALIST HOMEBREW!

Playing Mario Kart at full speed as its meant to be played.
Although this is properly the greatest release in a while you still cant beat WiFi Mario Kart or Super Mario 64 DS.
Cant wait for Goldeneye though since chances of that been ported to DS are slim since everyone has their hand in the goldeneye pie.
Keep up the good work

Can anyone tell me how fast mario kart and starfox is? I'd like to play those. Goldeneye too. And because Zelda is so big, is it much slower than Mario and does it crash?
I hope someone can answer all my questions. Great job and thank you to the N64 team!

if you hold the SQUARE button down then move the joystick that acts as the C-Buttons.

Anyone who cant find roms, and claims to have "searched for hours with no luck so far"... is either blind, or a TOTAL retard.

"Special Note
************
Just to clear up a few rumours, Daedalus has nothing to do with Donkey,
PSdonkey or any other mules, asses or docile quadrupeds of any kind."
Reply
"Couldn't you put the sound in the media engine, making the frames per second a lot better?"
Currently, sound is fully disabled.
So regarding sound, the speed couldn't get any better by using the ME for it. Makes sense?

N64:PSP
R: R
L: Optional to map to L
Pad: Optional to map to pad
Stick: Stick
B: Square
A: Cross
LeftC: Triangle
BottomC: Circle
Z: Default on L
Other C buttons: Default on pad
Start should be obvious, and leave select for a menu. As you can see, it's basically the same thing used for OOT/MQ on gamecube, which I found worked perfectly for the game. The pad and L button are used so little, that it's best to leave them as an option to map to.

N64 - PSP
(O can b used as the shift)
B - Square
A - X
L - L
R - Triangle
Z - R
C pad - D pad
Start - Start
Analog - Nub
This is the best system because in zelda, mario and GoldenEye, you will have to use the Z button at the same tyme as the A or C buttons. Dis means the Z button must be a shoulder button (L or R)!!
This is a SIK emulator, ive completed Zelda 12 times from when it came out to the year 1999.
Cant wait 4 the nxt update, Daedalus repped it!!

Anyone obove those firmwares are lying s.o.b's.
It wont work on 2.0+, it's mainly for 2.5 and below users. I fell sorry for 2.0+ people who arent enjoying the latest hombrews. Good day.

Reading the posts on PSPUpdates is like being strapped into a perpetual mind-numbing machine. My IQ has dropped several points just by participating.
Shucks, my jaw has slackened and I'm drooling upon myself. Ha-yuck.

It's his alpha release from March; download it. It runs hombrew ROMs but he DID make a release. Just wanted to clear that up. At the moment, only beta testers have access to latest releases..
I think it's great that we have several projects on the go. I just hate these propaganda style hatred posts that are tied with the N64 emulator. It's only an emulator after all...

There doesn't look like there'll ever be a non-GTA related exploit for homebrew. If there is, I'll jump on it, but I doubt there will be, the same as for a downgrader for 2.01+; flash0 access is blocked by sony from everything that's 2.01 and above (the bastards :P)
