Ó

CPS1 Emulator for PSPNJ is indeed a one-man army -- imagine, this guy does it all fast! Two days ago he has come up with the Alpha2 of this new conquest of his, and now the good developer has updated the emulator yet again. Recently he unveiled the CAPCOM CPS1 Emulator for PSP beta 2. I wonder if this guy ever sleeps.

I won't be surprised if he has a working emulator in a matter of days, because he has all the needed talents, knowledge and discipline to be able to accomplish his goal. One-man army, miracle worker, fast, efficient, talented -- NJ is all that and he never let's us forget that he is indeed a phenomenal homebrew developer.

Anyway, I'll stop babbling now and will focus on the emulator. Before going over to the changelog, be sure to hook us up with your constructive criticisms, opinions, suggestions and other what-nots through your comments. With that aptly stated here is the changelog.

Changelog:

beta 2

-Fixed a bug where the controls for length-wise games did not correctly reflect the rotation.
-Added Service Coin and Service Switch to Key Configuration.

beta 1

<Fixed Bugs>
-Fixed a bug causing slammast(mbomber) to freeze.
-Fixed a bug where the Key Configuration for slammast(mbomber) was only displaying two buttons.
-Fixed a bug with punisher, etc... where a portion of the sprited wasn't being displayed.
-Fixed a bug with pang3(Euro/Japan) where it wouldn't launch due to an EEPROM error.
-Fixed a bug where varth(US) wouldn't launch.
-Fixed a bug where the initial button setup on quiz games was odd.

<Added - Changed>
-Made it so that games that won't run in MAME won't launch. The effected games are the following 4: kodb, sfm1, sfm2, sfm3
-Made it so that the screen for length-wise games can be displayed rotated. For the effected games only, there is a Rotate Screen option added to Game Configuration and the default value is Yes. The resolution of the PSP screen is quite low and the resulting screen is small, but you'll just have to live with this.
Also, the screen turned on it's side is the correct way of diaplaying the screen. In order to return to this display, set Rotate Screen to No.
-I've made it so that it performs CPS's screen filp emulation. It's activated by changing a specific option under Dip Switch setting, but it normally isn't nessecary to change it.
-Made it so that the input buttons automatically adjust when the direction of the screen display is changed.

Thanks for all your time NJ! I'm among many others very greatful for your work.

I'd like to ask a question concerning the Neo-Geo emulator and its inability to run large roms. Is there a way around this or will I forever feel the sting loading yp KOF96 instead of 2002?

there a converter file in the zip of the neogeo emulator take that out and run the rom converter pick the rom you want like kof 2002 and after a while you'll have a cache file of that game, put the cache file of kof 2002 in your neogeo cache folder. now you should be able run all of the large files like this, but there is no sound.

# teaming up....Guest 2006-07-26 16:33
it wouldn't be a bad idea to ask NJ to team up with the creator of the MAME4ALL emulator, that way we could play games from the other companies not just capcom. Imagine a version of MAME for the PSP just like the PC version.

Anyways, just a thought.

Fantastic work!
