Logo of Sony PlayStation Portable - Image 1Developer J.F. has been hard at work updating the Mac homebrew emulator for the PlayStation Portable, Basilisk II. A new build has recently been sighted and changes a couple of the default control features on the program.

Clocked as the 19th test release, the new version of Basilisk II includes some complicated changes made to the mapping input. The developer explains changes in detail on the project release thread, found on the source site we've linked below.

Anyway, here's a brief rundown of all the new additions made to Basilisk II test release 19:
  • Updated input mapping. (More details on the homebrew project thread)
  • I've included a new input map that makes the d-pad the mouse.
  • Note that the default mapping has changed! LTRIGGER is now the OPT key, and RTRIGGER the Control key. The CROSS is now the mouse button, while Enter was moved to SQUARE. The rest are the same as before: the d-pad is the Cursor keys, CIRCLE is CMD+w, and TRIANGLE is CMD+q.
Like we mentioned, you can read more about Basilisk II by visiting the developer's thread on the ps2dev forums. If you have any comments regarding the emulator, go ahead and leave any feedback there.
