They delivered indeed, I have to agree. This confirms that picture taken of a PSP-3000 running an emulator. This is one step closer to possibly getting CFW on the PSP. Good job guys! Keep up the good work, and don't give up!
Or could you somehow use plugins like CXMB with it?
For your question the answer is no. Currently it will only enable u to run programs.
But a person could come along with a CFW loader (custom firmware) and along with that comes the CXMB and plugins as well as no use for a loader.
By the end of the cycle we ought to be able to run homebrew without the HEN.
I just hope they release this soon. my last PSP went shot and iv been putting off getting a new one for a few reasons..
No cash..and i'd have trouble finding a new one i can hack.

I have a question, since we can run hmbw now, does that mean we can run a shell (i.e. IRShell) and once that boots we can run ISOs, is it possible? just curious.

Do you REALLY think ANY, ANY serious Game Developer would make a PSP GAME, if EVERYONE would or could just get it from the internet - or downgrade his PSP for 2 bucks from his friend while a game costs 20 bucks?
Since the video clearly shows it loading homebrew then why the hasn't he released it yet? If he is going to take this long, then just release the kernel exploit so someone else can create the hen. Anyways no offense's keep up the good work.
Dark-Alex has done allot for the PSP homebrew so give him some respect. I for one own all my games (3) and i only use my psp for development.
I would assume that IRShell uses the ISO loading features built into CFW rather than having a stand alone ISO loader, but I could be wrong.
The only problem with that is it's so much more convenient to rip UMDs that you own to memory stick (he benefits of doing so are obvious).
It's a shame that the online store is still so lacking in both legacy and current UMD titles. If only Sony offered a legit method to exchange a physical UMD for its digital counterpart.
If they offered that, plus a few additional features lacking in the OFW, I would probably not even bother with CFW anymore. I still prefer emulation on my GP2X.

If only we could find this kind of simple exploit on the PS3. HEN firmware on the PS3 would be complete awesomeness. Screw Backup booting, we just want homebrew. Longing for the day we get a Dreamcast Emu on the PS3..
Its not like i like piracy, i have 4 games now, i want to play gow in god mode, i'd like to have some cheats enabled though, but i want to buy a couple of new games which i cant in my country,i thought i'll buy it of amazon but i have to pay like 20 $ just for shipping, i think thats not fair for me to pay double,,.
i know you'll tell me to buy it of psn, which i cant because there are country restirctions there also and i pay more during currency conversion. After all that i have a download limit every month so for downloading i do still pay,so i pay downloading charges for something i have already paid, c**p, best way for is piracy unless sony does something, so dont blame me for wanting iso/cso loaders.

i pirate not only cuz its free. but since there isn't many psp games worth full price. i always thought sony should compress games and put like a 500 letter and numeric password on it (sorta like winrar) and put out a update that would read the new file type. also make it so way that when trying to dump a game it corrupts. know my method isn't easy but it could work

i pirate stuff too because frankly, I don't use my psp that often. Mainly, all I've used it for is to sort files, read PDFs and study things, and browse the net very comfortably. Yes, I am cheap and can afford games, but the ISOs and CSOs that I obtain are from old PS1 classics, rarely do I ever play new stuff. Some titles are just quite hard to track down in stores because they were released a loooong time ago (Coded Arms).
I have bought 2 UMDs and frankly it disappointed me that I took the effort to walk into a future shop or a best buy and purchase it.
PSP interested me only because of the homebrew factor. I love to see what other people are developing thru GNU and that was the main reason why I went to the trouble of opening a battery, installing CFW. Unlock the potential. PSP had it.
Everyone gives respect to Dark alex. He done enabled some great features, but made a horrible mistake. He should NEVER added a ISO/CSO loader.
I think you should hack the whole PSP and do what ever you want to do, make your homebrew, listen to your radio, enable your cheats for cheats-disabled games, run irshell, extended browser or what ever you want. But DO NOT add a ISO/CSO launcher. If you dont have money, and got the PSP for free (suprice/lottery or what ever), then sell it if you don't want to buy the games, and prefer getting ISOs, because the games are 10-20 bucks each, and you cannot afford it.

Picodrive is better than the DGEN sega emulator
just install linux... sure it can't use the GPU, but with capable hands it is very possible to run advanced emulators

the fact is iso and cso are faster at Loading and has 1,000 more options you can do with them over UMDs Making it the ONLY way to go, without it having a hacked PSP 3000 would still be Crap on a stick.

every body has watched something on the internet when they should have paid for it that includes most videos on youtube and other sites as well you know and the only reason i even bought a psp is because of the ps1 emulator
all i play on it is ps1 games and if a playable n64 emulator comes out ill use that

its only 24mb and others are even less while final fantasy is arround 2.4gb
I'll be the one honest guy here. I pirate games... why? Because A. I'd rather spend the money on something else and B. The risk of getting caught pirating software/games/music is verrrrrrrrrrry slim.
I don't need to make excuses about games being too expensive or not meeting my standards. I pirate because its free and its convenient. If I don't like something I've downloaded, then I haven't wasted any money, and if I do, well then I've saved myself the price of the game as well as a trip to the store, congrats to me and I'll go buy a burger or something with the money I've saved, or better yet, spend it to pay my bills in this ridiculous economy.
The day that its easy to get busted and people (besides Metallica and self righteous goodie goods a.k.a. LIARS) actually care about pirating is the day I'll stop. With all of the software I use, music I listen to, games I play, I guess I've saved myself 2 or 3 grand in the long run. I honestly can't relate to people that spend money on this stuff.
Its like paying someone for a new car when the guy across the street is giving the same car away and your only risk is being caught jaywalking on your way there.

Now it's just a matter of time 'til we're back on again a new ISO/CSO loaders until we still don't have a cfw. So, if the ISO/CSO loader would come anytime soon for this HEN, I think Imma go get myself a PSP-3000. This is great news indeed in the scene. :)
